Availability of the PS3 Spiderman bundle?

I thought the Spiderman 3 bundle was discontinued a long time ago and replaced with the barebones 40GB SKU. But I'm surprised to see a lot of ebay listings for a NEW Spiderman PS3 bundle, and it even resurfaced on Walmart.com http://www.walmart.com/catalog/product.do?product_id=7964601

If I'm in the market for a new 40GB PS3, is there any reason not to get the Spiderman bundle instead of the newer one? You basically get a bluray movie free for the same price. I'm just slightly worried that these might be older units/returns/etc.

Any thoughts?

Well, the Spiderman bundle is the earlier PS3 40GB production models (from last year). Personally, I rather not get it because the unbundled 40GB consoles were made this year, and are possibly better made (due to the manufacturing process of them maturing).

That's just my outlook.

It's really up to you. The PS3 has been pretty damn reliable so far. I am almost certain that all of the 40gb systems are using the 65nm Cell chip (rather than 90). What should be the key factor is whether or not you will get a valid receipt with your purchase for warranty purposes.

Btw - Nice singing the other night Mana, but don't quit your day job :D

My K-Mart has a shit-ton of them in the stockroom right now, but only the barebones systems in the display case. This could be nifty in the event of a clearance or pricedrop.

I've seen plenty of them at the Walmart near me. I agree with QiG about reliability, so I don't think you can go wrong getting either sku.
