Back to the Future tril price drop

Mainly because i just dont know off the top of my head...how can you tell which are made right and which were f'd up? I know there was a number or letter signifying that somehwere on the box...

I think as long as it has one of those "New Low Price, Buy It Before You Run Outta Time!" stickers on it, it's the new versions with the fixed framing. The "V2" is on the discs themselves. I got mine at Best Buy, and for some reason, BTTFII's disc says V2 on it, but BTTF3's does not. However, both are the corrected versions, so no worries.

The only thing that bothers me is that mine didn't come with an insert. And I'm pretty sure that all of the new DVD sets don't have them either. Any ideas on how I can get one?

But still, 20 bucks for 3 classic movies is a damn good deal.

fyi: the reason the price dropped is probably because they're releasing a 20th anniversary version later on this year.

Whoa, I was planning to buy the trilogy way before, but good thing I read this thread first. I had no idea that there was a frame problem.

What the shaq fu more can they add to the trilogy? The DVD set as the way it is right now is already damn packed with more extras then I can shake a bloody stick at....

Any information however on what a 20th anniversary version might add... please post it. Thank you.

They were supposed to include some footage of the original actor who played Marty McFly (Eric Stolz), but it never ended up on the DVD release. At least, I don't think it did -- so maybe it will show up on the anniversary edition?

If I remember right its because Eric Stolz wants more than what Universal is willing to pay on royalties for using the footage. No big deal. Would be cool to see it, but I don't know if I would buy the set all over again just for that.

lol It wasnt there when I posted. I was looking at this thread, then got distracted, and didnt refresh before I posted.

Son of a bitch, I got mine from BB and I got the full frame version. The box's sticker on the front was covered by a BB price tag. All I see is the word "...screen".

Those bastards better let me exchange it.

Same here.

I was going to buy this with the Indiana Jones box set, but now that you guys are saying theres going to be a 20th anniversary version coming out I might just waite...I wonder if it will be worth it though since the set thats out now you can get for 19.99, and thats a hell of a deal. Also, why is the Indiana Jones set 60 bucks? I mean thats a bit much even though I love those movies.

BTTF sarted off around 50-60. Remember your getting 3 movies, having them be $20 a pice plus an extra disk is cheap compared to what else is out there.

So the new version has the white/green sticker and the old one does not, correct?

Anything else I should be looking for, and I assume that both versions are 19.99 now?
