BB and clearance titles.

Okatha

CAGiversary!
Was at the BB yesterday on 183 and 360 in Austin, and they had some games in a clearance bin. One of the games was Genji for the PS3. There were several of them, all with the red dots that meant an extra 10% off. No prices, of course. So I ask one of the reps to look up the price and he scans it. $59.99. He claims that they were placed there by mistake, but since there was a sign on the bin saying that Genji was a clearance title, I doubt it was a mistake.

So... anyone know if these games only show up with a reduced price at the register, or what?

I bought a few DS games that were in a similar bin here in San Antonio. They still rang up at full price, but luckily they had a sticky note on the game with the clearance price rather than just a red dot, so the cashier just overrode the old price.

Since there is a sign on the bin, and it specifically mentions Genji, just point them to it if they try and give you any problems at the register. Hopefully the person at the register will be more knowledgable and know what to do since there's a red dot on it, but I don't think things like these are in their systems, so I doubt it will ring up any differently.

Hrm, weird way to do things. Oh well, thanks for the response Rock, I'll be giving it a try soon.

Tried it again, had to walk the cashier over to the bin even though the games had the red dots on them. There were two signs on the bin, one with a handwritten list of games on clearance, and another that said "Take an additional 10% off red dot items". Apparantly, that is the clearance, 10%.

I didn't get anything.

10% off is supposed to be a clearance now? Man, that sucks. Hopefully they'll drop in price more (25% off should be the starting the point for clearance titles if you ask me) once they see that they're still not selling.
