BB Deal - $39.99 God Of War

Eh... I scored a copy for $25 last summer... not that great of a deal unless it's in store too since you could use the $10 coupon then.

Decent action game, but overrated.

They've made us wait too long for an intermediate price-drop on this. I'm washing my hands of it until it drops to $19.99 GH ($14.99 w/GGC@BB)

Speaking of which, it seems about time for a new batch of GH...

I agree, how the hell is this not $20 yet. I found a copy at Sam's last year for 26.xx and passed because I expected it to drop soon at that point. It's starting to feel like mario party pricing......

I couldn't disagree more. This game is so much fun! The battle system is the best to me. I actually hate it when the enemies die, bc it is so much fun fighting them. I'd say the hype is fitting.

Well, the game hasn't quite been out a year yet - I think we've just been spoiled by quick price drops lately. Can't really blame them for not dropping it if it's still selling tho.

Anyway, the SE Devil May Cry hits next week, which is going to be in GH packaging. Any chance anything else is going GH at the same time?

Please don't quote me on this, but I've heard that this should go GH in late February along with a couple other newer Sony titles. And if not, you could probably find it for better than $40 in the near future. That being said, this game is awesome and worth all $50, IMO. Bought it upon release and never regretted it.

Completely agree that its overrated. I finally played through it last week after getting it free from Sony's Retail thing and while it was fun it was just too easy. The game doesn't even penalty you for dying (that I noticed). I'll probably tackle the other difficulties sometime, but the normal difficulty was a breeze and quite straight forward. Action games are my favorite genre and GOW just seems to take a bunch of good stuff from others. Shit I should be offended they even put their own type of 'Devil Trigger' into the game. Not all action games need to use that aspect. The weapons and magic also have no special/unique feeling to them. It was still a fun game regardless but its felt like playing Rygar May Cry.

I think God of War is one of the few SCEA games thats' MSRP was $49.99 to begin with.

I guess Sony knew they had a hit on their hands.

God of War was one of the absolute best games I played last year. From a developer's stand point, the direction and story were phenomenal and the way the game plays made it seem more like an interactive movie. The gameplay was great, but it did get a bit tedious and monotonous towards the end. Still the execution and level design simply blew me away. I'm glad I got mine for $33 one month after its release. Worth every penny.

I'm still waiting on the GH version myself. I, too, felt it was overrated after playing the demo. Sure it's fun, but I felt like DMC3 had better action all around. The only really cool parts were the interactive trigger scenes, but I heard those were kind of few and far between. I definitely would not pay $50 for it though, even though I paid $35-40 for DMC3 and MGS3. Then again, those were franchises that I enjoyed (at least parts 1 of each)

Someone clearly didn't play it on the harder difficulty.

Yup gamecrazy had it for that much a month after it came out, but this is still a great deal at $30.

Ninja Gaiden Black is still my favorite action game of all time. Insane difficulty (on very hard and NMM) that really made me scream at the tv when I killed a boss and their pansies. A sort of reward and gratification that GOW doesn't really give me. Don't get me wrong, it's still among the top 5 action games of all time (along with DMC1) that got me pumped to beat some bad guys, but just not as crazy as NGB IMHO.

I agree 100%. Some of the best "thumb candy" in years.

this should be GH already, the requirements for GH is the game has to have sold 400,000 copies and have been out for 9 months. i beleive the game came out last march, and it has probably sold more then the required amount. they just know that the game will keep selling at 49.99
