http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=8232420468

2 hours later someone by the name of tinaf##head used BIN.

20 minutes later I get this:
"Hello,
Compliment of the season to you. I'm Tina Henry from GA, but Presently i'm leading a conventional church program in Canada. I saw your item (8232420468) and i'll like to buy it for my son that will be starting a Computer science course in University of Nigeria Next week. Do not worry about the shipping of the item, i have an account with FEDEX and i'll be sending you my FEDEX account number for the shipping . Moreover i would have prefer to send you a cheque but simply because i want you to ship the item first thing tomorrow morning, i will be sending you payment via PAYPAL,so make sure you get the package ready for tomorrow shipment ok? And kindly send me your paypal address or your contact,so i can make the payment right away. Thanks
Tina Henry."

I googled "Compliment of the season to you..." and came up with o lot of crap.

2 min ago this:

"Hello,
I have made out my payment to you for this item purchase (8232420468),So check your mail for the comfirmation mail from paypal.Get back to me immediately if you receive the confirmation mail from paypal and don't forget to send me your physical contact address and the exact time you will be at home tomorrow so that i can send you the label and invoice that you will paste on the package. And when you have done all that i will also schedule Fedex to come and pick them up from you in other to reduce the stress of you driving down to their location to send it but still you can also send it youself if you like..Hope to hear from you soon. Sincerely. Thanks"

I hate scammers! Maybe I'll play with the f||cker.

Same here. fucking scammer pieces of shit. There should be a mercenary that goes around killing these people off one by one.

He's already banned, so the auction is null and void.

Plus, if you file for a refund of your eBay fees, it should be immediate because he's no longer registered.

Looks legit to me. I'm from Alabama and everyone down here says "compliment of the season". As a matter of fact, I was actually considering majoring in Computer Science. This is my first year of college, and I was thinking of transferring to the University of Nigeria for their world renown CS teachers. UN beats any Ivy League degree when it comes to CS. Boy would I miss my family though. But my mom said she'd send me a PSP. Problem is she needed it sent out right away and could only pay by cheque. But anyway, I'm rambling.

Compliment of the season to you all. And have a Happy Thanksgiving.

Give him the address of a police department or something, lol. Or maybe someone you don't like.

hahahah, i got a e-mail from that person, they asked me if it was ok to offer me $230.00 for ta ps2 i had for sale on e-bay, the person said he/she was located in Africa or something...i said sure, please send your money first and a picture of yourself so i can burn it...they never responded back
Well apperently they aren't a register user anymore.
I noticed that.
He is going to send fake payment confirmation from paypal soon :bouncy:

This is actually a big business in Nigeria. Scamming (not just eBay scams) ranks in the top 5 for Nigeria's commerce. I'd venture to say it's similar to our telemarketing. It consists of a business involving many people working together all using the same plot and different characters. Just imagine cubicles of scammers at their computers, emailing away precomposed, yet poorly translated, messages of extra payments and compliments of the season (compliment selected randomly and based on time of year. Collect them all!)

++EDIT++
It's also fun to google or seach eBay message boards to read the stories of the people that fall for these scams. I love when they explain things thinking that other people were just as likely to fall for it.

Actual story on eBay:

When the auction ended he asked me to send the item to his mother in nigeria. Obviously, I was very unsure of all this...but when i received an email SUPPOSEDELY from 'PayPal', claiming that Laban123 had paid the money (£137), I was taken in completely. The email, which featured the paypal logo and a seemingly very authentic text (I know what they mean, but I just envision them looking at the email and saying to themselves out loud "Yep. That's clearly authentic Times New Roman."), claimed that he had paid the money, which would be paid into my account once I emailed them the tracking number of the item. In other words, they pretended to be PayPal, and said that they were holding the money until I posted the item...TO PREVENT FRAUD!!! (oh the irony). I had also received an email, again supposedely from PayPal, "authenticating" the shipping address.

Of course, when I posted the item, the money never appeared. I am ashamed that I was taken in by such a scam. Being new to ebay and eager not to get negative feedback didn't help my cause.

I do feel bad for the people that fall for it, but at the same time I want to slap them.
you almost made me laugh to tears btw
What happened? Did you look at my tradelist?

I got one that was crazy it was for something simple like blank cds, and the person was like I would like to purchase 5,000 of these units from you and I will send a check and please ship them to Africa. I emailed them back and just let ever single aggression I ever had in my life out on them. They never emailed me back for some reason. :)

one looser sent similar email to me, but he was from US O.O (same thing with fedex schedule and all, I got it address though).
he tried to scam me for about $700 (Nintendo 64 DD), and he sent me fake western union money transfer mail (you've got cash, but you won't get it physically until we'll get delivery confirmation number, lol).
when I was trying to use links from that email they sent me, I got nothing but blank pages.
and he was talking in riddles, seriously - all the time(poor english, barely could've understand what he was trying to say).
that's pretty funny, until somebody is getting scammed -_-.

EDIT: LOL you already did it on your relisted items!

How many times do people have to have your auctions ruined my false buy it now people before you'll start making everything immediate payment required? Sure you might lose 1 or 2 buyers who can't pay that way but it's worth it to not have to put up with idiots ending and then changing their minds or just bidding with no intentions of ever paying.

I think it's the way to go from now on. BIN = PIN( Pay It Now)

Got it all back. Thanks.

I remember reading a website a while ago where the guy sold an Apple notebook on ebay and fucked with these scammers. He had them send the fedex slip and he mailed a box within a box with a phone book inside or something. It was pretty good.

I also read that a long time ago. If anyone knows the site with the story please post it, I would like to read it again, I just remember that he got them back pretty good.
 I didn't know you were back masha. Good to see ya again. I had to steal the scammers line for my rank.
Thanks, I'm back since June. Been busy lately. Almost got married. God saved me :whistle2:#

BTW ZION, Leave the guy alone. He had his avatar first :fridge:

I haven't had this on e-bay but I have recieved about 20 letters from insurance companies trying to convince me to partner with them to commit insurance fraud. Now why a real insurance agent would do that for some random person is beyond me ( 1st how the ..... did they get my address and 2nd why does this always involve Africa)

On the net the word Africa directly translates as Scam.

These scammers are great entertainment. I usually like to screw around with them first before ending it.

I swear, for every lot of game or system I put up on ebay, I get a letter requesting to end the auctions early and sent to some place located in Africa.
I've got "Paypal confirmation"

They can't even get their shit together.

I'll write her back later
I love how "Paypal" spells "Shipment" as "Shippment" over and over.
