Beatles: Rock Band guitars WTF...

metrognome

CAGiversary!
So I am looking to get my wife Beatles: Rock Band for the holidays and I figured since its been out a while I should be able to score a deal. The premium bundle itself should go on sale sometime during the holiday. I have a PS3 and I was a little disappointed that only the 360 version was $10 off this weekend.

BUT THEN I looked at the guitar controllers since the software only version is so cheap right now. My wife's fave beatle is George Harrison so I looked for his guitar. This one (The Gretsch Duo-Jet) was $299 and the Lennon guitar (Rickenbacker) was $160!!! On the 360 you could get the George Harrison guitar for normal price $80 and the Lennon was on sale for $60. Later today the Lennon for 360 will be on lightning deal for probably less than that.

So WTF? Are there just not many of the PS3 versions of these guitars in existence? Seems like they made too many of the 360 controllers and a super limited number of PS3 controllers. Harmonix are assholes if this is the case. You are ruining my cheapassgamer buzz!

I just want to get into Rock Band, but RB2:Special Editions are often at $140+ and there is no RB3 bundled edition. So Harmonix is also pretty much admitting that they don't care about new players either.

I'd love to find the Target clearance deal that some people have found, hell, I'd pay them extra to pick one up for me but there is no way I am paying 140 for a game that old - especially when I know it is possible to find it for less than $100.

Harmonix is just crazy.

Definitely try to find the Target deal. I saw a RB2 bundle at mine on clearance for 69.98. Almost wanted to just get that and the beatles disc, but it would be cooler for my wife if we had the Beatles drum kit and guitar.
