Beauty and the Beast

OMFG. I am looking for a new sealed copy of Beauty and the Beast "Platinum" edition DVD and it seems impossible to find it, or at least one that's not a bootleg, or one that's not ridiculously priced that's sealed and comes with everything(like a new DVD should). Damn disney for not making it available. grrrr.

So yeah, if anyone knows a relaiable site that sells this for a good price, it would be much much much appreciated. Ahh, the things we do for love.

try stores where dvds don't move as fast, like mall dvd stores or a circuit city that's out of the way. if you can't find it, hold tight. UltimateDisney.com is expecting a Beauty and the Beast rerelease in 2010, which will include a bluray release.

Pawn shops are a great alternative for Disney vault titles. Usually, they have no idea what they're worth. I picked up both Sleeping Beauty AND Beauty and the beast for $10 a pop at a local pawn shop. You'd be surprised what you can find in a decent sized one.

K-Mart always has old crap laying around too.

Also I think it's fine if you buy a bootleg, Disney is just asking for it, they are assholes.

i'd wait for the pending re-release or try ebay/amazon marketplace for one. finding a sealed copy might not be worth the asking price though.
It's been out of print for, what, five or six years now? You're not going to find old stock of it anywhere. That's bad and misleading advice.
Have you been to a K-Mart ever in your life? I was buying NES games from then when the N64 was starting to die.

And if you are in Portsmith (spelled Portsmouth) NH you can watch Disney's Beauty and the Beast every Thursday, Saturday, and Sunday until the end of the month for $5. It's a really nice city, I think everyone should visit there.

The difference being that when a Disney title goes back in the vault, retailers are asked to return stock.

The best option is to kick back and wait for the impending re-release. My wife and I have had to do that with Sleeping Beauty as it came out on DVD just after we were married and we didn't have the money to get it then. Of course now it's coming out in October, so... yeah. Just have patience.

Got my mint condition one used copy from a place called Mad Platter in the I.E. (Riverside, CA) for about 14.99 over a year ago. It does shows some very (and I mean very) minor shelf wear. Think this place is own by the same company like Rhino Stores.

Suggest looking for it in a Rhino Store or something closer than to that.

Thank you all for your replies, it's much appreciated. It seems like I'll be spending a ridiculous amount of money on one dvd since disney is evil and "vaults" things.

I don't know about Disney asking the retailers to return the unsold copies. Because I remember recently with the Cinderella movies they simply just said they are going in the vault and once the stores run out of copies, thats it. SO honestly You still might be able to find them in stores you just have to really really look hard. I got my transformers season dvds the same way.

and if all else fails you could just go to your local video store and when the dvd is in stock just offer to buy it at the register. I have done this for a few hard to find games as well.
