Voting is now open for Best Brick & Mortar Retailer of 2005.
This award goes to the best overall B&M (physical store) video game retailer.

Please vote using the polling system above.

Nominees:
Best Buy
Circuit City
EB Games
Game Crazy
Game Rush/Blockbuster
Game Stop
Toys R Us

EB Games... earlier in the year, Paper Mario for $20 made me very very happy. And, their Buy 2 get 1 free Pre-played treated me pretty well.

I nominate GameRush & Rhino. If you've got a Rhino near you, they have a great deal where you can trade in two games worth at least $10 credit each and get a free $50 game; if the game is more than $50, you can just pay the difference. Incidentally, it's also owned by Blockbuster.

Gamerush by far.

another wildcard:
For those lucky to live in the midwest, Nebraska Furniture Mart. They already match everyones stuff and beat it by a dollar plus have great deals themselves.

TRU. How can you beat 10 dollar RE4, FF 1+2, Digital Devil Saga, Psychonauts, Killer 7, Metal Slug 4+5, Metal Slug Advance, Pikmin 2, Metroid Prime 2, and so many others I can't think of at the moment?

TRU, never would've considered it until joining CAG, but all of the things I end up finding on this site most of the employee's dont even know that these deals are going on (9.98 clearance, SW controller, etc.)

Although TRU had a good December, Circuit City was the best last year. I probably buy stuff there more than anywhere else. Not only did I drop a ton on games there thanks to good-to-great deals, but I bought and HDTV there and got the price adjusted TWICE with absolutely no hassle after it went down within 4-5 weeks. If I had tried that at Best Buy they probably would have told me it could only be adjusted once. If at all.

For all the people talking about your "Best" retailer cause of their deals... It may just be me, but I dont think that a "Best" qualifies some sweet deal you got there. I got my dick sucked by 2 of the cash register chicks at Best buy, but I dont only shop at Best buy.

I would say EbGames... cause they'll still take a game back if it sucks.

Thanks for sharing guy.

I would like to nominate K-Mart, I know ive had quite a few deals from them thanks to the emergence of even more Wal-Marts.

I'll put in a sleeper... Micro Center has some random gem deals that no one ever knows about and its a great store to wander around in.

I never understand the love for EB Games. If you are buying new games, they are the worst.
Never any sales, high used prices and they stopped price matching.

My vote goes to the store everyone loves to hate, Best Buy.

Whenever you see anyone post that they don't shop there, they are the first ones in line when the store opens and the first ad they reach for on Sunday. Guaranteed!

Gotta give love to Best Buy. Got my 360 at launch and they were the only ones with good deals on 360 games, the only ones.

Best Buy.

No one this year has even come close to touching $20 - $25 DS games, or $50 games on sale for $20 after the coupon.

And EBgames sucks hard, the damn store is more unorganized then Circuit City.

I vote for Best Buy (for the coupon) and Game Crazy (the friendly staff and the trying games before you buy them, especially to make sure they work).

Honorable mention:

Book Broker in Evansville, IN, and Bookmans in Arizona. Got some great deals over the years at the Broker, and the stuff I got from Bookmans after Christmas was just nice.

Regional places are probably out of the race though.
Oh well. :p

Fry's Electronics! They always have good prices on NEW games and their customer service is excellent. Excellent in-store selection as well, I was finally able to get a NEW Gitaroo Man for only retail price!

Toys R Us all the way!! Great deals and great customer service!

Fry's would of been my second choice. They ended this year on a weak note IMO

My favorite this year was Best Buy. I had no trouble using those $5 and $10 PS2 coupons and I got some great games for cheap because of them.

my vote is for Circuit CIty. Bestbuy has too many hassles when i use a coupon. Its very overratted nothing in stock. I place an online order and 6 hours to tell me out of stock..
Ebgames and gamestop have nasty employees.

GameRush has got to be on the ballot. The high trade-in prices along with the steady stream of deals (until late fall) made it pretty much my one stop shop for my gaming needs in 2005.

I agree. I also, nominate Gamerush. It was the only place i went for new games thanks to the trade-in 2 get a new game 29.99 and the good to excellent trade-in values.

GameRush and CC were pretty good to me in 2005, but my best deals on the best quality games came from TRU late in the year. Gotta go with the giraffe on this one.
