I went to Best Buy to grab my LBP code, but I also found a package for Dead Space which includes the art book. This is one thick, fat art book. It includes 3D glasses to look at special pictures in 3D, too! Available for PS3 and Xbox 360. $5.00 down just like all other Best Buy preorders.

My Best Buy had them right now. Can't find it online though.

By buying the book, you are preordering. Or you can look at buying the preorder gets you the book.
 
It's a pretty solid artbook, nicely bound. Even comes with some 3D (red/blue) glasses to view some of the images. Well worth my $5. Thanks OP!
 
This art book is an awesome high quality item. Nearly 100 pages and easily worth $10 - $15 under normal circumstances. The best thing about the BB preorder, if you don't pick up the game you can get the $5 you spent put back on a gift card (if you show the receipt). This essentially makes the art book free! Please also note this works with every BB preorder bonus ;)

Wait. Wait. So you only have to show BB the receipt to get the $5 back?
 
Sweet I might stop at Best Buy and see if I can go home with an art book.

I saw the art book at Game Stop last week, it was awesome.

The fine print typically says you got 2 weeks to pick up your reserve or they reserve it for 2 weeks (not sure which one). Beyond that you can get a refund. It seems that the 30 days return policy doesn't apply to the $5, so you can get your money back even after 30 days.

I think you can actually get your $5 back in the original payment method. Not necessarily on a gift card.

I believe that's the case. Couple months ago I preordered Crisis Core canceled and got my money back the same way I paid.
 
Great I asked somebody at best buy when i seen the art book and they told me that once I pre ordered the product i was out of luck if I decided i didn't want it. They had a lot of copies for pre order.

In my situation I paid $5 (on credit card) on the MGS4 preorder around 6 weeks before the game came out. I ended up getting the MGS4 PS3 bundle so I told them I wasn't going to pick up the game by itself. They said since it was past the 30 days they could not put the $5 back on my credit card and instead offered me a gift card. I had no problem with that since I spend a lot of money there anyway.
 
If your store gives you a hard time about returning the pre-order. Just go in the store and pick up the game and checkout like normal at customer service. Go outside of the store, come back in and return everything and get your money back. :)
 
I might just have to go to Best Buy and get in on this. I was going to pre-order from Game Stop, but I'm still deciding if I should get it on the PS3 or Xbox 360, and knowing my luck, by the time that I make the decision, Game Stop would be out. Five bucks for that art book is not a bad deal.
 
I'm on a business trip right now. If I pick up a preorder kit, can I redeem it at any Best Buy or only the one that I purchased the kit at?
 
Oh man, fantastic. Thank you so much for posting this. I'm a huge Ben Templesmith fan and so really wanted to get this book with the game. But I read somewhere else that it was a Gaymstop preorder exclusive. I was actually starting to consider breaking my years old boycott against those fuckers when you swooped in and saved me from my misery. A real American hero.

Picked it up at my local best buy today. It's a lot high quality than I expected, although still a bit small for an art book for my taste. Good info inside about the game too. I had no clue what this game was about before looking at this art book.
 
Can anyone take a few pictures from the art book?

EDIT: I just read that there is a 3-D glasses included in it, is that true?
 
Yep. On the inside of the backcover there is a pair of 3D glasses. Some of the photos can be viewed in 3D that way.

I'd post photos, but I'm at school and the book is at home.
 
Im really glad that best buy is doing pre orders and having some decent bonus's.. its a huge plus.

If only cc would jump on the bandwagon..
 
all bestbuy's should have it. On the back of the preorder box it specifically states you can take your receipt to the customer service desk and get your money back too.
 
whoa, thanks for the heads up. i dont really want the game right now so i'll grab the preorder bonus for $5. i hope my BB has a lot left. i can cancel my GS preorder once i pick it up.

i didnt know you can get $5 back if you cancell your preorders without returning the item. i would've taken advantage of that for soem other preorders, hehe.
 
Picked one up, even though I don't plan on getting the game (at least, not at full price). Really good little book for a fiver.

It has to be the one you did the reserve at.
 
Just got mine today. Pretty nice for a free-order bonus. It's hardcover, and about the size of 3 packs of cards. The art on the front and back cover are really nice.
