If you bought the game because you wanted it why would you want your money back?

Yeah, why wouldn't they think something shady was going on when you no longer wanted the game because of a problem (that if it really happened) wasn't even Best Buy's fault? I would have thought you were trying to con them too

Sounds like you are trying to scam them to me. Why wouldn't you want a copy of the game now? Seems odd to me.

Bad grammar and spelling doesn't change the fact that you had bad luck in finding an a-hole manager and getting a defective item, but that doesn't make BB 'suck' as a whole. They have pretty good deals there once in a while.

I see Sneaky hasn't posted yet, so *swoosh* grammar nazi away...

I just bought Red Dead Revolver last night at Best Buy. I went out to my car, pulled away, and started opening it while I was driving. I noticed something weird when I was opening it. On the outside of the "sealed" plastic, there was security tape sealing the plastic. I didn't think too much of it until I opened the game and the disc was gone. I called them right away and the guy told me it happened often, don't worry about it. I brought it back in after the phone call and I had no problems at all. I felt like everyone was looking at me like I was criminal, but they didn't say anything at all.

On another note: I asked the guy to open it in front of me to make sure their was a disc inside this time (twice in a row would've been my luck). There was a disc inside, but what pissed me off was the way he opened it. He took the plastic off, then to get the tape off, instead of simply peeling it off, he had to do that "slam and slide it really hard on the edge of the counter" thing. It took about 3 minutes for him to get it off. Than while pulling the now jagged tape off, he pulled on the protective plastic covering on the game case, making it stretched out and crappy looking. And due to his retarded way of taking the tape off, their is sticky shit all over where the tape was (i know, goo gone takes it off). I've seen stores open games this way all of the time...wtf is wrong with them?

IMO, being offered a new copy of the game is all you can reasonably expect Best Buy to do. I'm glad this hasn't happened to me yet *knock on wood*.

Stores need to really scrutinize any unopened game that gets returned. Of course someone could easily buy a game that was stolen in this way, not open it themselves and attempt to return it before the 30 days is up. Then you might get a real hawk-eyed CS rep who notices something fishy and you get screwed. Man that would really suck.

What do they care? It's not their game. That's why you can never trust a cashier to open your games for you. I've seen too many things go wrong when a cashier tries opening or fixing something, so I've learned to keep things out of their hands as much as possible.

Its best that you open the game after you buy it, so you make sure you dont damage the case, and if the disk is missing then you can get a new one.

u should b glad they let u exhchange it, some stores might not even do that. plus one bad experience doesn't mean bb sux automatically, infact bb is one of my favorate stores (why do people bash bb so much?), and i have never had a problem.

LMAO. When I read that I damn near fell out of my chair!

went to pricematch red dead revolver and showed them the flyer straight from circuit city so i stood in line waiting for the person to call cc (don't know why even though i showed them proof that they were sellin red dead revolver for 29.99) and the person ended up helping two other people after me then she looked me as if i was a new customer and asked if i was waiting for something so i just dropped the game on the desk and walked out
