Wait for NBA Jam: On Fire Edition.

EA dropped support for the original NBA Jam. It would be smarter to keep that 20 dollars and put it towards the new one coming out in a couple of 1-2 months. That one is an XBLA / PSN title if I recall correctly. Updated rosters, tweaked gameplay, new modes, etc
 
This makes me want EA to have a 50% off sale! Hopefully before the holidays (not that my backlog needs more games)

Yep, XBLA/PSN game only. Comes out in October I believe. Save your money. Disc version only good for people without broadband access as rosters were outdated when the game was released last year and EA dropped all support for it because of low sales numbers.

Would be nice to see Crysis drop some more before I pick that up. Skate 3 is tempting though.

Are these price drops universal or just with bestbuy ? The ea store still has Crysis 2 for 59.99, wtf ea ? That's the only ea game I really want right now that's out already
 
I just locked in my trade of Skate 3 at amazon for 13.50, cuz I know that value will tank soon, and I can always pick it up again later.

Is it a cakewalk to get the 1000 points on achievements?

I did like NBA Jam back in the 90's.... could be tempted to grab this one for $20 for the gamerscore boost.
 
is it just worth it just for the fun of it ?

god dam it dead space 2 dropped to 29.99.......oh well it's worth the price.

Not really you have to beat the campaign 6 times to get 6 different division achievements which take about 6-8 hours per campaign and 1 remix tour. Then you got those online achievements which might be hard to get because of the bad servers and the lack of people unless you get someone to boost with you.

I personally found the AI at the end of the Remix tour to be goddamn impossible. They'd beat me by 20 points each time, and were amazing at stealing. It was pretty frustrating and unenjoyable, so I'm going to go ahead and say no, getting 1000 achievements is actually very difficult in this game. Also, my friend and I thought it'd be cool to jump online a month after it came out, and we kept getting matched up with completely maxed-out players who just destroyed us. So good luck with the online achievements at this point in the game.

Again, DO NOT BUY NBA JAM. It's a good game, but just wait for the XBLA version. It's literally better in every way.
 
The XBLA version of NBA Jam is supposed to come out in November. If I remember correctly, it's going to have some features that were in the Wii version of NBA Jam that were cut for the PS3/Xbox versions. So, basically, the best version of NBA Jam for xbox and playstation has yet to be released.

So, why pick up the disc version now when the improved, XBLA version is coming? I'm not sure if the game is coming to PSN, but I don't see any reason why it wouldn't.

That's why there's a price drop on the disc version. The arcade version is coming soon.

What are the Collector's Editions of Dead Space 2 at now? I think it dropped to $24.99 a while back, wondering if it got adjusted with this price drop as well (assuming, of course, you could find any).
 
Don't buy NBA Jam yet... They are re-releasing it on PSN/XBL very soon with more features and a cheaper price. I think it's gonna be $15.

I think NBA Jam is a universal price drop since Ea is also selling it for $19.99 on their website (lists MSRP as $19.99 as well)
 
if you're gonna buy NBA Jam for 20$ might as well wait for the On-Fire Edition, it's gonna be 15$ as a PS3 or Xbox marketplace download. It's basically a newer version of NBA Jam but with more features, also it's going to come out in the fall.

I bought the CE (360) version 40 less than 45 days ago...... what is the sku that the CSR would need to put in the system so I can get a price difference?

the PC version is 20 bucks...which is tempting...because of the mods...I wonder how gory it can get on the pc version?
