Best deal on a black 3DS XL?

Peretz

CAGiversary!
The reviews for the new Zelda 3DS game finally pushed me over the edge in deciding to pick up a 3DS XL, but I don't want to spend any more than I have to.

I also don't want to get trampled at Target for a doorbuster deal. (I'm not that desperate.)

I thought of just buying one on Amazon, but wanted to check with the experts before making a final purchasing decision.

Please note that I've waited a long time to get a 3DS XL and can wait a little longer if there's reason to believe there'll be post-holiday sales or a price drop in early 2014.

There won't be a substantial price drop after the holidays, there's no need for one. If you decide to not partake in the Black Friday sales, the lowest you'll probably find an XL for is $179.99. I would wait and see what Amazon offers, considering they just had the XL on sale for that price last week. Either they will repeat the price during BF or match Target.

Honestly, if you want to pay less, you're going to have to work for it. You could try going to Target at an off hour (aka middle of the night, 2 am or 3 am) after the crowds have died down and see what they have left if a certain color isn't a must. Or you could attempt to PM Target's price at Walmart on BF .. although, from personal experience, I would imagine just going to Target is the preferred and much easier option.

If you do decide to skip BF sales all together, I would keep an eye out for the Mario Dream Team bundle that's been rumored. It may not be cheaper than $199, but you might also get a game included. Also note that tomorrow and Saturday, Walmart is selling the LE Zelda 3ds for $199. You would save $20 off retail, get a download code for the game you're most interested in and if you ever decide to sell the console, I guarantee you will get nearly what you paid back from the sale if not a little more.

I think I may brave Walmart tonight (all the wishing the Xbox One launch wasn't the same night the Zelda 3DS XL bundle went on sale) and drop some coin on that gold and black 3DS XL after all. :)

Walmart also has the lowest price on Super Mario 3D Land and Mario Kart 7 at the moment, but I'm going to do a quick search and see if any retailers are running any specials (like Toys R Us' buy 2 get 1 free deal).

I'm interested in picking up Pokemon X or Y as well, but NO place has it on sale right now (and likely won't for a year or more).

I'm finally ready to spend some gift money from holidays past; I just want to make sure I spend it wisely.

EDIT: And where are may manners?! Thank you for your reply! :)
