Best DS Lite Case?

Looking for recommendations for good DS Lite cases. I got a cheap looking DS Lite sleeve from GS for Christmas and the person that got it said it was the only case GS had. So after a quick online search I found literally hundreds of different options and I have no clue which ones are garbage and which ones are decent.

I'm not sure if I want a hard type case or a soft pouch type. The case also doesn't really need to hold anything besides the DS Lite. Whatever I get I'd like the inside to be soft so it won't scratch up the DS and the outside to be touch enough to at least give it a little bit of extra protection.

Pelican Dual Folio Case DS Lite

That Folio case looks huge. I'm sure there are better alternatives.

Its funny, ask for the best PSP case and you'll almost get the same reply: The Logictech Playgear case. DS Lite cases have alot more options and therefor will be difficult to declare any one the 'best'.

I like the Hori cases they have at Play Asia, but this topic has been discussed very well a few months ago -- search for the "official DS lite case review" thread or something. Has photos and all.

Personally, I don't use a case. I take it everywhere in my pocket or briefcase and it still looks great =).

Thanks found that topic, it seems like most all of the discussion is about the play-through case and I don't really like that one much. Which specific Hori case did you like?

How about just a game wallet? My DS Lite fits nice in one of my laptop bag compartments but no place to carry games...unless I load up all my cases...and who wants to do that.

I liked the smallest one, forgot what it was called. It wasn't the play-through one, it was the one that you'd open on the top and pull out the DS.

This might be overkill but I bought myself the DS Lite G-Pak Organizer & Travel Case made by Naki. It holds all 30 of my DS games and accessories. It has room for a few GBA games as well.
It's very soft inside and comes in Black, Grey and White.
You can find it at EBGames or GameStop.

I think it depends on how you use/carry it.

If you carry it by itself usually, then a bigger case with room for games and adapter is probably the best.

If you usually have another backpack/bag you put it in, then a sleeve is probably sufficient. I think the DS Lite "socks" they have in Japan are pretty swank.

Depends on what you need (i.e. how many games? GBA games too?)

For me, I just need one to protect the DS in it's case and hold a few DS games when flying (otherwise I only play at home).

This one is perfect for me. Made by ALS and $9.99 at Target. Has a plastic insert with button cutouts so you can play it while in the case if you want, and has a zipper pouch that will hold several DS games. Not really any room for GBA games though.

I know we've discussed this to death a number of months back. But anyway, I'm using a Hori Multipouch most of the time. In it I can put the DS Lite plus either a) 3 ALS DS game cases (holds 9 games) or b) 2 ALS DS cases and 1 ALS GBA case (again, 9 games total). You can also remove a couple of the cases and put the charger in instead. It protects everything well when I throw it in my backpack.

For lighter travel I use an Oakley bag that's made for sunglasses. Hats off to the CAG who figured out it perfectly fits the Lite (and doubles as a screen cleaner). Perfect for throwing the Lite in a jacket pocket.

I just got back from Walmart looking for that Pelican case...none. Looks like I need to order it online. Anyone have this and confirm the thickness with a DS and games stored in it?

DS Lite G-Pak Organizer & Travel Case If you were talking to me, It's NOT the metal brief case thing. I've seen that one.
here is the link. Hope it works. This holds 30 cartridges and is soft inside and durable outside.

^ If link goes to main page......Product Search for G-pak in the Nintendo DS section.
Eh? That's sounds cool...do you have a link?
Here is a link: Not sure how many games it can hold. EBGames and Gamestop have them.
DS Lite Metal Case Kit ...If link send you to the main page just search for the DS Lite Metal Case Kit.

Only two game spots?! That kinda sucks...but it does come with some cool stuff....Hmmm...I wonder of Wal-Mart has 'em....I have lots of gift cards, from Christmas...

I wonder what goes into the top portion of the case. Maybe there is room for multiple cartridges. I have to go to EB or GS and check one out.
I recently picked up the Hori Wallet Pouch. Room for the system, 3 DS games, a stylus or two, and you can even stick a GBA game in there without dorking up the form factor too much.
I do kinda like the look of that wallet...hmm

No wai! The Hori Wallet pouch...looks like a wallet?! (j/k, j/k)
I use the original Gameboy Advance carrying case. Here is a link to what it looks like from someone on Ebay.

You can find it on clearance at Kmart for $5 and it fits the original DS or the Lite in the front pouch and can hold 12 GBA games or many more DS games and the charger in the back pouch.
That's cool, I'll try to find that!

I have a GBA case similar to that one on eBay but it is more vertical than horizontal. The DS fits perfect in the GBA slot. If anyone wants it, I can get photos of it and sell/trade it.

Get a pic, then we'll talk. >_>
I just got back from Walmart looking for that Pelican case...none. Looks like I need to order it online. Anyone have this and confirm the thickness with a DS and games stored in it?
I just happen to come across this board and this thread doing a search for a new case for my ds lite.

I picked up the Pelican S-7341 case from circuit city today [they show a funky blue looking one online, but the one they actually carry is the black one reviewed at cnet] for $9.99 plus tax. It's one of the best looking cases i've come across for the ds.

The thickness with the DS lite and with the games in the case is a bulging 3". The pouches for the DS games are WAAAAAAAAAAAAY too small [i'm not kidding about this point. the pouches are extremely tight]. It's a struggle to get the DS games in [a real workout]. The pouch designed for the AC adapter is too narrow. When you place the AC adapter into the pouch, it has to go in diagonally, resting against the DS unit itself when both are in place in the case. There's plenty of length but not enough width which makes the case BULGE up in the location of the AC adapter head.

I have a polar white ds lite. The interior of the case is died black. I placed my ds into the pouch for the ds, yet again another snug fit, and when i carefully pulled it out of the pouch, the L & R shoulder buttons had become black due to the colored fabric within the case.

It's a nice looking case from the outside, but because of all the fitment issues with the game catridge, ac adapter, and ds unit pouches, i think i'll be returning the case tomorrow. Too bad though, it really is the only case i like.

Edit: On second thought, i think i'll just keep the case. I picked up some ALS 3 DS catridge holders and i'll put the DS games in there and just slide them into the second zippered compartment. You can fit 4 holders in the rear compartment, so that's 12 DS games in total. You can then place 3 more DS games in the front compartment in the GBA catridge pouches with the DS lite unit if you so wish. I'll place the AC adapter in it's pouch, and just place the DS lite unit over it's holder pouch [not inside the pouch so there's no struggle to get the ds unit in and out]. I'll place a napkin over my dsl inside the case until the fabric's coloring is done leeching.
