Best netbook for $350?

You can't go wrong with an Asus eee. I have a 1005, and another one of my friends bought the same model after trying mine. I also know someone with an Acer netbook, but the keyboard on those just doesn't compare (way too small). I write long essays on my netbook just fine (Asus advertises keyboard as 92% full size).

i have an acer and i love it. great battery life yea keys are the standard size for a netbook but good unless you are adrea the giant.

I have an Asus EEE 1000he and I absolutely love it. I imagine that the newest EEEs are also wonderful.

I have large hands, and find the keyboard easy to type on. I mainly use it to surf the web and do quite a bit of touch typing writing when I am away from home or if I'm hanging out in the back yard. It's cheap, it is tiny, I can drag it under the car when I'm working on it and need to look at online guides, etc. If it gets trashed, I don't feel like I'm going to be losing too much.

Just be sure that a netbook is what will suit your needs.

And be forewarned. For some reason simply /having/ a netbook seems to piss some people off. They will go out of their way to comment on your computer. I simply don't understand this phenomenon.

Yeah a friend of mine is always saying "How can you read anything on that little screen." Even though the text is no smaller than on his normal laptop. I also have an Asus 1000he and if I bought another netbook it would definitely be an Asus. Though next time i might get one of the slightly larger models like the 1201n. Some web sites seem to have troubled with the 1024x600 resolution most netbooks run at, I think the 12 inch models do full 1042x768.

I bought an Asus eeePC 900 16gb for about $180 from Woot and it was insanely slow when I got it. I paid $60 or so for a faster 16gb SSD hard drive. Ever since replacing the SSD, the netbook has been very fast and I've been quite happy with it.

If I ever buy another netbook, I'd look for another Asus first.
