Its about time to upgrade computers and I was wondering where is the best place to buy a gaming PC. I'm not crazy about FPS but I love RTS and RPG's. This place seems to have good deals:

Or could someone find a good deal on EBay for me. I'm looking to stay around $1000.

I don't recommend CyberPower at all. I had a lot of problems with the computer I bought from them. Long story short the idiot that put it together never put thermal grease on my processor. Could have just been an isolated case but I'm certainly not going to buy from them again :/

Monitor the hot deal forums, then pick up a computer with a decent processor, I personally wouldn't worry about the video card that comes with it. Once received order a new video card for it. The only thing to keep an eye on is if your psu will be able to handle the video card you want to put in it.

Learn to build your own.

Arguably, the hardest part is saving enough money so you can buy all the parts simultaneously.
How about this one?

How much is it worth?
Not that great of deal IMO, you could build that machine on your own for cheaper. If you don't want to do that you could get a better deal on a pre-built machine. Prices are always dropping/changing so how much it is worth depends on the current deals. For example:

This barebones system was $280 shipped at computer geeks

 • Intel Core 2 Quad Q6600 2.4GHz 1066 MHz 8MB L2 Cache CPU
 • A Power Golden Deluxe 680 Watt 20/24-Pin ATX power supply
 • MSI P6N SLI Platinum nForce 650i SLI Socket 775 ATX Motherboard
 • Two (2) 1 GB DDR2 RAM PC2-6400 240-Pin DIMMs
 • Generic 10-Bay ATX Computer Case
Simply add the 1tb HD on sale at dell right now for $130 shipped, Vista System builders 32 bit or 64 bit $100, the video card of your choice for $150, a Zalman 9700 from newegg $50, some extra RAM $30, and finally a DVD burner $30. You would have a better system for $140 (including the shipping on Ebay) less than the prebuilt one. Which is about enough pick up a 22" monitor. The only thing I would caution you on is if you don't have time to tinker, pick up a prebuilt one from dell when they have a decent sale. Then swap out the video card and possibly the psu as I previously mentioned.
Loaded with crapware, but a good system overall. Needs a better graphics card if you want super high-end gaming. Does HP typical give you a clean copy of windows, or do they give you their loaded version?
I'm not into PC FPS games. I play those on my 360/PS3. I do, however, like RTS, RPG, and Sim games. Would this PC allow me to upgrade to an 8800 video card with the power supply that it has?

Talked to my cousin who builds PC's and does programming. He said he could build me a hell of a system for $1000 or so depending upon the video card I wanted. So thats what I'm gonna do. He said I really wouldnt be happy with the HP and that it would show its age real fast, so I cancelled the order for it.

Thanks 52club, he broke it down like you did and showed me how to make a far better system that will be able to grow in the future. Right out of the gate I'd be looking for another graphics card, then the power supply, the FSB wasnt that great, so and so on.
