I've got a few 2003 and older sports games I'd like to trade. What store gives the best prices or doesn't exclude them from trade deals?
You can probably take out the game, the cover and the manual out and sell the bare empty game case on ebay for more money.
Thats probably true especially with Xbox cases.
Trashcan. Seriously. You will get anywhere from not taking them at all, to $1
The only way you're going to be able to unload them for anything is to wait for a deal like bonus $5 or something at FYE and find an absolute moron that doesn't know any better. I've tried selling a few 2003 PS2 games on Ebay for $1 and $1 shipping, no takers.

EDIT: One thing that helped me sell two old Maddens was listing the cover person. If you go the Ebay route try "Madden 2003 PS2 with Marshal Faulk cover" or something like that.

With fees and all, is it really worth selling something on ebay for $2?

This may be the best option actually. I've never sold anything to a pawn shop. Do you just fill out the same type of form you fill out for trading at game stores and they give you cash on the spot?

it all depends on the pawn shop.. i live in a smaller community so sports games are always in demand (especially WWF games for N64 that i always grab for free from GS and EB..).. but yeah.. i can usually get 5-10 dollars a disc.. and they don't make you sign any forms or anything.. you just give them the games they check for scratches (really thats all they check for) then they hand you over a check or cash.. usually cash though.. i wouldn't suggest handing in a bunch of dupes to the same pawn shop as they probably won't take mulitple copies.. and i would suggest at the VERY least opening up the cases and making them "look" at least used.. but go in there first see what they are selling the games for.. the ones around here charge 15 a used PS2/XB and 10 for GC.. so i can usually get 5-8 dollars (on average for xbox and ps2 games) and then obviously less for GC games.. and if you are really good you can trade in Jampacks for at least a couple bucks

take them to blockbuster. all games are eligible for their "trade in 3 games, get any pre-owned one for $10." then if you want turn that game right around and get some good EB credit.

All the Blockbusters around here haven't had that promo since January. None of them have any trade promos. Just the buy 2 get 1 free.

I may decide to save these games in case some deal like that should come along.

Wait until EB has another trade-in deal where there are no restrictions. You won't get much not including the bonuses they give, but you'll still be able to get rid of it.

The best option actually is to take them to the salvation army or some other thrift store and get a tax write off. Seriously, you can tell them the value of each game is $5 or more and they'll take them. I think a tax reduction is better than wasting gas trying to find a pawn shop that'd actually give you that kind of money (no offense guys, but you're an idiot if you actually think we'd believe that a pawn shop gives $10 for sports games).

Err, some pawn shops WILL give that much for old sports games. I wouldn't suggest wasting your time finding one, but a place owned by a guy who doesn't deal much in video games will see the PS2 and NFL logos and just give you a few bucks outright.
