Well my 6 months trial of Comcast has ended and now they're trying to rape me. Thinking of making the switch to a dish, but I've never had one before. Which service is better, Direct TV or Dish Network? Not looking for a buncha channels, mainly just basic stuff. Wanted to do a SBC bundle, but I can't get DSL at my house and need Comcast's high speed internet.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

With 2 young kids, we watch very little TV, but did get kinda hooked on that whole "On Demand" thang Comcast has. Little Man needs a quick Blues Clues fix? POOF! There ya go.

Suppose if a got a dish system with a DVR I could do something similar, right? Stupid question: If I get a satellite system with a DVR, can I access my recorded shows on all my TVs or only one?

Should I order direct from the companies or is it safe to use something like satellitesales.com to order?

Thanks again.

The DVR's are strictly DVR's, with no real good On Demand service and that's about the same for both unless you're a big Starz fan and want their little On Demand thing.
However I'm sure you could create a backlog for him of the show to watch if need be.
As it stands for the retailers it really doesn't matter usually because the deal is being offered by Dish but READ the terms and everything. Also with the whole bit make sure they do a good install. Some try to run out too quick without making sure the shit is installed well.

I've never had DirectTV so I can't compare, but I have Dish and I love it. I pay I think it is 54.99 (plus gov tax) and I have a DVR that works with two TV's (one's wireless). I have the full 120channels so I think it's a great deal. Besides that, if I move (which, I did), you pay nothing to have a new satellite installed.

Dish Network has a deal for 20 a month for 10 months. (usually 30 a month) I just signed up myself.
