What is the best Sudoku game for the DS? I know there are a few out their. I also know that Brain Age has Sudoku in it, but for certian reasons (I wont bore you with the details) I'd rather just get a stand alone Sudoku game. Thanks :)

Only one I've played is Brain Age and it's great. Unfortunately, every other Sudoku game for the DS has gotten rather poor reviews. Sudoku Gridmaster seems like the best of the rest, but even most reviews of it recommend Brain Age over it unless you really need 400 puzzles.

I have sodoku gridmaster and it's nowhere near as horrible as everyone makes it out to be. It's quite enjoyable. I'll be dangerous and say I enjoy it over the brain age one since its 100% sodoku and you can choose whether to write in the numbers or use the stylus to hit the numbers like on a phone.

Also be aware that Ultimate Puzzle Games: Sudoku Edition is coming out soon and the company who made that made an excellent card and board game multicart for gba. Although I dont know if they can carry that over to a good sodoku game. ;P

If you enjoy sodoku, take a look at picross DS (if you dont already know about it). It's heaven in a cartridge.
I have to pimp it. The more people buy it, the more chance we will get more picrossy goodness in the future.

That's what I was thinking. But thank you to everyone for your info. I may go and pick up Sudoku Gridmaster. It's actually not for me but for my in-laws who are Japanese. They already have the Brain Age game but the Japanese version does not have Sudoku included, so I was just wanting to get a stand alone Sudoku game.

QFT. I've already played the kiosk download demos to death and I'll be picking up my reserved copy at GS on Tuesday. I'm most anxious to see what kind of download puzzle content they release. There's a mile-high crapton of Picross puzzles from Japan that we've never seen in the states. (For more info on that, listen to the Player One Podcast Episode 39)

I have the European Picross version, and I can assume the U.S. will have the same downloadable content. If you want to know what is downloadable at this point, click the following spoiler button.

I know indeed that Japan has had many picross compilations, but unfortunately, the only downloadable content so far is in the form of Mario's Picross. Two puzzle paks have been released at least (haven't checked in about a week). Now, Mario's Picross was available on the Gameboy Original, so it's doubtful most folks have had the opportunity to enjoy it. It does the Picross job well. I actually liked playing Picross on it in some ways better -- much easier to mark X's. But there you go. I'm hoping we'll see Japanese content, but it looks like they may be prepared to milk Mario's Picross for a while. Mario's Picross had quite a bit of puzzle play, and these puzzle paks have less than 10 puzzles in each one, if I remember right. I'll be right shirty if that's all we ever get.
