best way to set up remoteplay

CrimsonRaven25

CAGiversary!
Hey guys, I don't know if their is a guide or something at all but I live in a pretty good size house, and their are 3 different wireless routers, and I have having a hard time to getting remote play reach each end of the house and IV been seeing post that others have this problem as well

So I hope this come is handy to you all or at least one person.

(Now if you are currently connected to WiFi I reccommend you use a wired internet cable, amazon is your friend if not Walmart sells alot of them, if not you may still continue with these settings will work as well as but you may have more lag. )

First off I recommend you to TURN OFF DIRECT CONNECTION with on the remote play,

Now go to your network setting and check your by click the view connection status

You will need to write all this down, Ip adress, subnet mask, default gateway and primary dns, mtu, proxy server if used

Next you will now change this into manual mode for your ip adress, you will write the first 3 parts such as (10.0.0) for that last number put a high number, (10.0.0.25) note your first three numbers maybe different

Now everything else is the same as it should only thing changed is the ip adress...next go on your tablet or desktop, and go here

http://portforward.com/english/applications/port_forwarding/PS4/ (portforward guide for all routers)

http://www.routerlogin.net/start.htm (log in to your router) (by default its admin and password)

This is the rest you will need ands its all pretty much straight forward

Make sure your router is up to date because you will have issues connecting,

After you do all this I was able to go from end to end of my house and connect to other routers with no problem

I really hope this helps someone, this helped me alot and was extremely easy to setup

And IV noticed a slight increase in the visual and a great increase in gameplay, this Is well worth it

If you are setting up true remote (outside of the house) play, then you should have a wired connection to your PS4 unless your wireless router is right next to your PS4.  Seriously, too many other things can impede connectivity, even if you get a decent wireless router.  It would have been better if they would have put an AC card into the PS4 but it does have a 1Gb copper port.  That is your best bet.

As for inside the house, get a good wireless router (AC) and set it up in the middle of your house. Unless you have a huge house or have steel framing this should suffice.  If you have a two story and put it in the basement you will have issues on the top floor.  Get a repeater.

As for your other comments, I have never had an issue using direct connect while inside the house.  Are you talking WalMart for the router or cables?  If cables there are better places than both Amazon and WalMart.  Monoprice is one of many companies that will better serve you than WalMart and you can pick your cable size.  Amazon would be better if getting a single cable and your have Prime.

For ANY network connection, wired > wireless.  If you are gaming, wired >>>>>>>>>> wireless connections.  I will say anyone who argues otherwise does not know networking (at least as of this time).  If wireless was better you would get it delivered to your residence in that manner.  Think about it - it is dedicated and will not be interfered with (bending, cutting, and crimping are different issues).  Microwaves, cordless & wireless phones, and numerous other devices can interfere with a wireless network connection.

I stated that about the wired, I was just saying amazon and Walmart sells them, I didn't say I had issues with direct connection, only when moving to far, that is why I have it off, the way I have it set up is through lan cable with direct connection off and since IV done that audio and visually are slighty better and I can go from end to end of my house, like I said I have a decent size house, this is why I made this post, I said this set up will work with wireless but there will be lag that's why I recommended cable I know wired is better then wireless, did you quickly skimmed my post?????
