Anyone around here a fan of Better than Ezra? Just curious if anyone has heard the new album yet. IMO, Better than Ezra is one of those great bands that just slips under everybody's radar. In fact, I don't think I've heard one of their singles on the radio since "Desperately Wanting."

Anyway, I went out and bought the album, and I can say it's easily their best since Friction, Baby. I can even forgive them for resurrecting "A Lifetime" from their last album since it sounds better than the original version. Other favorites are "Burned," "Our Last Night," "Juicy," and "American Dream." Heck, the only song I DON'T listen to on a regular basis is probably "Overcome." The melody just sort of loses me about halfway through.

BTW, only respond if you have a clue what I'm talking about, please. If you don't like the band, fine. I don't care. I just want decent conversation.

I heard they were big supporters of whatever city in Louisiana they were from. Kind of a SoundGarden like band.

I am a fan of BTE. I bought the new album a couple weeks ago. I like it, but I don't think it is one of their better ones. I definitely liked Closer better, including the older version of "A Lifetime". Still, none of their albums have matched Deluxe. I thought the song "Juicy" was kind of annoying and there was another song (I don't remember the name offhand) that made me think I was listening to the Spice Girls. Other than that I was pretty pleased.

Also, I picked up their Greatest Hits collection which was released in March. It has a great version of "This Time of Year". If you haven't picked it up yet, I would recommend it.
