CAGiversary!
I've got a great story that happened today at my local Circuit City. The one in my town is closing down, so its been taken over by the liquidators, so I can't really blame it directly on CC. But here goes...
I picked up a couple of games and CDs, which were 15 and 30% off respectively. Unfortunately, AFTER I has finished paying I noticed that one of the CDs didn't get any discount on it, so I brought it up to the cashier. He immediately pointed at customer service so I made my way over there to get my money back for the 30%. After a few moments at the register the guy there told me he couldn't get me my money back because his register wouldn't let him change the price on the product at all. So I asked for the manager and was pointed towards the front of the store. I explained to him what had happened and he looked at the CD and promptly said "Oh, this is a clearance item. It's marked with an x.88, which means it doesn't get any discounts." (nevermind that EVERYTHING in the store is technically on clearance, right?) I ask him where it says that and he tells me all the signs say that. Well, as you can guess, NONE of them said that, and in fact they said "ALL CD's 30% OFF!." At this time though I was about to miss the movie I was headed out to, so I decided not to pursue it anymore since it was only about $3.
So in short, if you're planning on buying anything at a liquidating CC, don't let them ring you up without giving you a discount on anything that ends in .88 .
