Bioshock 2 Multiplayer Boosting

Fellow CAGs,

I don't consider myself an achievement whore, but I do like to get 100% of the achievements in a game when it presents itself. Like in the case of Bioshock 2, I've gotten all of the other achievements in the game minus Rebirth and the two that are part of the multiplayer DLC.

However, 2K Games and Digital Extremes (really, we should be angry at those guys. They are apparently responsible for the multiplayer in Bioshock 2. And Wikipedia says they co-developed classic multiplayer games like UT2K3 and UT2K4! WTF?! How did they mess up this one so badly?!) really dropped the ball on the multiplayer and have been horribly unresponsive to its customers. After releasing the DLC, they didn't change anything in the matchmaking or playlists to cater to the DLC owners. If you own the Metro Pack DLC, you will likely not be able to play it because everybody in the lobby has to have it in order for you the maps to even show up! It's been more than a year since their official BS response about how they wanted to keep the player base "unified" and their false hope promise of "we'll look into it." There is no good reason from a coding standpoint for their excuses.

Long story short, the only way I can see myself ever a) getting a chance to play the maps and b) getting the achievements is boosting. And with the somewhat recent Bioshock 2 DLC sale on Xbox Live, perhaps some of you joined mistakingly joined the Bioshock 2 multiplayer bandwagon. If you did, now would be a good chance to actually put those maps you paid for to use.

So, if you're in, reply below. We'll sort out the time and how of it all as we get some players on board. Please join today!

I missed out on the opportunity last time so I'll make time this go around. Count me in. I've been trying to scratch those achievements off my list for quite a while now.

hhmmm ... I havnt touched multiplayer yet , LOL!! Anyways if you need another person count me in ... im home for R&R & I wouldnt mind boosting either ..

Haven't touched this game in awhile and E3 has gotten my Bioshock blood pumpin! Just let me know when and I'll try my best to be there

I love the multiplayer in this game, just wish it was a little more polished and less laggy. But yea, 2K marin handed this terribly. (though PC players got the biggest shaft with this game) Still bioshock2 is one of my favorite games of all times.

I already have the achievements, but here is something I can recommend. The people who have the map pack usually play on team adam grab playlist. As that offers the easiest way to boost where everyone can win each game. It's ironic that after I boosted to get the maps to pop up in matchmaking finally, I started to find them in random games. But seriously, try seraching on Team Adam Grab. This playlist also only requires 4 people to start a game, so you can force the dlc maps.

EDIT/CORRECTION: I MEANT FFA ADAM GRAB.

If you're willing to register at another site (and/or are willing to play with non-CAGs), TrueAchievements has gaming sessions, where people specify when they want to start, how long it'll last, how many people are needed/preferred, and what achievements they're going for.
You could either check if any existing sessions need anyone, or make one yourself and see how many are willing to join.

I would be in if you guys were going to do boostingone the vanilla multiplayer dlc stuff. I actually specifically didnt buy the mp dlc when it was on sale because I didnt want to deal with that headache.

I'm in for non-dlc maps!
I've never touched the MP in this game, in fact I don't think I've even played the campaign on my tag...

Funny you should mention it. Actually, I had some luck with the regular FFA Adam Grab yesterday. Someone started a party and I got to play two or three of the DLC maps. It's a real shame these maps aren't more readily playable. I really enjoyed some of them.

For non-DLC players, I really don't see why you need to boost. There's still enough people playing the multiplayer for the achievements to be doable without boosting. The grind to 40 might be a bit of a chore, but personally I found the first 40 easier than the last 10 because you have a ton of challenges available to you for some easy Adam. And the capture the sister and killing a Big Daddy are pretty easy as long as you keep playing the Capture the Sister, Civil War, and Turf War playlists which are always populated from what I've seen.

For the more relevant DLC players, when's a good time? Does this weekend work for everyone or are people too busy to game this holiday weekend?

Boosting this has got to be one of the most tedious things I've ever done for a 100%. Turret hacking for 60+ hours.. omg.

Yeah I'd only recommend boosting for those who can't stand the multiplayer in general because it's still pretty active. I personally just need the Metro DLC achievements as I've already Rebirthed but I'm willing to help those who are hunting for everything. I'm available during the week; weekends are almost always a no go.

oops! Correction, I meant FFA Adam Grab. The reason everyone boosts the new maps on that playlist, is because it requires the least people to start (4) and also you can make all your times even and it counts for a win for everyone. (but to get the achievement for winning on all the new maps, you have to have won on one map, then the rest you can tie.)

The multiplayer is quite unique, really adds to the bioshock experience, and is a blast. Sadly not enough people buy the DLC, because the maps never pop up, because no one ever buys the DLC. Its a terrible cycle. And whats screwy is, the map pack really is a good deal compared to games like COD. You get 6 maps, new challenges, up to level 50 with rebirth and new masks all for 800 points (and has been on sale like 2-3 times now.) I don't see why the dedicated fan base still wont shell out for that, but people will pay 1200 points for 3 COD maps.

You guys free during the week? I can probably do 7 PM EST and after on any day weekday if that works better for everyone.

I'm definitely in! I actually enjoy the multiplayer so I'm down for either legit playing or turret hacking.

Currently at level 43, the Rebirth achievement and the last achievement in the Protector Trials are the only things I have left to do in BioShock 2.

Well, xandez1 and I played. Two people weren't exactly enough to get the maps to show up. I guess either a lurker friended, but he seemed busy with other games. I'm fine with lurkers joining. Just make sure to friend me and make sure you're there!

So, any better suggestions for a play date? Sounded like weekends weren't good for some of you. I know I'll be playing Red Dead Redemption because of the quadruple XP weekend when I'm doing 4th of July stuff. And I might need to check out that Uncharted 3 beta next week. But, if this weekend works for more of you, I can probably fit you in.

But like I said, I'm pretty free during the week. Even mornings if that's your things (thanks, unemployment! ;) ) But evenings are normally good for me (7 PM EST and after) too if that is preferable.

I am definately available Mon-Fri after 7 PM EST. Or, anytime on the weekends. Let's do this!!! Just let me know a day and a time. Thanks.

Anyone up for this now? I was working on it a few months ago and managed to knock everything off except Rebirth. I'm about 41 or 42 and would like to knock that last 100g out the way. Post here or add me on XBL saying you want to boost. I also have all the DLC and don't mind helping out as long as I'm turret boosting in the process =P

Added you. I'm level 43 and all I have left is Rebirth and A's in all the Protector Trials.
