Bioshock - Delayed

thats not that bad...it is still coming out in the late summer...plus with mass effect (allegedly may) and shawdowrun (allegedly june, and many of the preview people said you will be suprised at how much fun ones has while playing it), it didn't really make sense to release it in june in the first place.
 
That sounds like a pretty good date. Dead Raising and Saints Row both came out around that time last year and it didn't hurt sales any.

So we should only be seeing one potentially decent game per month?
 
Not bad, still looking forward to it, so long as its before the 4th quarter, I'm fine with it. If it was released in the mid-fall, I'd be sunk. With Halo and GTA coming out, I wouldn't find the time (or money!) to enjoy this one as much as I think I'm going to.

First thing I'm going to try to do is beat one of those annoying kids with a wrench :)

I do; this past fall was too intense, with Double Agent, Marvel, Rainbox Six, Gears, COD3, Viva Pinata, and FEAR coming out in a month.

That would actually be nice. Let me catch up a bit with my other games, and have some time to fully enjoy ones that will be coming out.

Let's see how "biggie" of a deal it is when the other two months get added on. Yeah, that's right, I said it. October. Shit, I'm starting to smell Q1 '08 at this rate, but I'm uberjaded when it comes to gaming delays. Then again...how could one not be?

P.S. Super Paper Mario coming in early April is the exception. Where the fuck did that come from? Not complaining, mind you.

Super Paper Mario was originally supposed to come out to the Cube last year.

True, but only by the loosest insinuations, and once it was effectively pulled, no one had any idea we'd be seeing it in 2007, much less about six weeks from now. Anyone who claims to have seen that coming is delusional and a compulsive liar. Like I said, it's the one anticipated game in recent memory that takes the standard 'Delay, delay, delay' path and flips it upside down.
 
Honestly, they could delay every game coming out this year and push it to next year and I would be happy. Then again, I'm the sorta person who has a really warped perspective on time ie; a year to you, is probably 15 minutes for me.
 
This is why I prefer the old days when I didn't know much about a video game until a month before it was coming out (because all I had was gaming magazines). All this anticipation, then broken release dates is so lame.

Agreed.

There's tons of stuff coming out for 360 before then, so I think I'll be fine.

And I'll say the same thing: I'll be glad for it. I now know why Jan-Aug is usually considered the slow period, so that people like me can catch up on the two-three year clot of back games. Seriously, I have enough games to easily last until next year without buying a single game.

I loved KOTOR. And seeing the videos of this game is what finally convinced me I needed a 360. This game will be as much a system seller as Gears.

I think you're thinking of Mass Effect...

BioShock is more like Deus Ex.

Which is why I'm excited about this game. While the sequel was insanely awful, the first Deus Ex was an absolutely incredible game. It still is. If Bioshock can pull off that type of gameplay in its environment (which is pretty unique), then I can't even imagine how good this game will be.
 
The trailer is absolutely insane. If two months gives us a better game, I'm all for it. I'm in the same boat as everyone else when it comes to a gigantic friggin backlog.
 
Hell, I'm happy to hear it's getting a little extra dev time. I can wait for this game, definitely super excited and I want it to be the best it can be.
