Blackberry Playbook 16gb $299.99 staples.com

The 16gb is $299 also at Best Buy and Office Depot in store if you can find it.

If they drop the price a bit more, I might get one, but only since I have blackberry work phone to use it with. The bridge feature is nice to use the phones internet, etc. Without having a blackberry phone to use this with, I don't think its for a very wide audience with its current software. Oh and if this thing had a micro SD slot on it, would appeal to more people too I think. Just has the mini HDMI out and micro USB.

Specs are pretty good and apparently the OS is also pretty snappy on it too. Now that there's a cbr app(released today actually), I'll wait until it hits $250. Hopefully it'll get to that point before the Kindle Fire is released.
why on earth would anyone spend this much money on a DOA tabelt
QNX isn't a bad OS, BB is going to start using it on their phones, hardware is good, BB connectivity, and is good enough as a toy. If someone needs to do serious work, they'll use a laptop or a desktop; not a tablet.

$299.99 is still way too much for the that tablet especially when you consider amazon is making a largely similar tablet for 199. I worked for a company that was a BB distributor. I can tell you with 100% certainty that there are millions of these tablets locked in distribution centers not sold. Rim stopped accepting returns on the units and just issued us a discount on our account for the unsold units. I'm betting we'll see a fire sale on these tablets too. Especially since the Hardware is getting older (it will be on the low end by Q1 or Q2 next year) and I'm sure Rim is making a Playbook 2, since they said they won't give up on the tablet market like HP did.

They had the Dell Streak 7 wifi for $199 after coupon a few months ago - that was a decent deal but I wouldn't pay it again since the Kindle Fire announcement - this isn't worth half that IMO.

Lol, right. I won't be losing sleep over it though. It seems decent enough. I love my touchpad though.

If It's $150 or less. But this thing is still too high.
