looking for blank dvdr's for cheap. I also heard that you need to be selective when choosing them because quality is important. need help purchasing. looking for probably a 25 pack. Thanks a bunch!

Your blank media quality was important on 5 1/4" floppies, it is important on CDRs and it will be important for whatever comes next.

Always pay the extra couple bucks and get quality media.
 
Yeah, spend the few extra bucks. I got 200 CD-R for free after rebate a long time ago from Office Max. God were they the biggest pieces of shit. The top label actually began to peel off, and since all the recordings were on there the discs became clear plastic frisbees. I still got some at my house. ANyone want to buy them?
 
You can usually find great deals on dvd media from slickdeals.net and/or bensbargains.net

Make sure you know what you're getting though, if it's generic/unbranded media it might be crap. I recently got 100 Ritek G4 4X dvd-r's for 60 shipped during a sale. You should go to dvdrhelp.com and search through the reviews for each media. Good luck.
 
You'd want to also make sure that the DVD player or other equiptment you want to use the burned media in is compatble with it. They also have a database of dvd player compatibility at dvdrhelp.com

Shop4tech.com - sells Sonic brand (white top for printing & pressing your own covers) DVD-R's for cheap.

Last time I purchased them, it was 100 pack spindle for about $35 with free shipping (they do charge tax in CA) - sometimes they offer 10% coupons every other month or so.

The thing is that they are 1x certified, but if you have a NEC 2500A burner, it can only burn them 2-4x WITH NO ERRORS (you can check with DVDInfoPRO software - it scans the burnt DVD for errors)
