I am on the Blockbuster unlimited 3-dvds total access plan (ie. 3-dvds in the mail and unlimited in-store rental per month).

I returned a mailed DVD to Blockbuster B&M to check out (free) another DVD.
A couple of days later, I return the DVD and thought that was it.

Now, I go into Blockbuster and they say they the said DVD was "auto-sold," meaning that it was never received. The CSR told me to talk to the manager about getting it removed. He also said that inventory was conducted on the same day that the DVD was "auto-sold" so if it was anywhere in the store, it would of been in their system.

Anyone had a problem like this or am I fucked and have to fork out $21.XX for the movie?

p.s. From now on, I will be directly handing over returned dvds and have him/her scan to check them in so I can be assured they were properly accounted for.

Mail might have lost it, or due to the christmas season, could be a little slow. When did you send it? Even first class mail, 2 - 5 days usually, may have just taken a bit longer..

But odds are , they can take it off your account if its the first time.

I think the OP is talking about a boxed DVD he got as a trade-in at the store and not the mail DVD. The mailed DVDs are marked as received once the employee scans it in so that you can trade DVDs.

Looks like you might be SOL on this one OP. You can try and argue with the manager (been going here for years/threaten to take business elsewhere etc.).

It's not the DVD he got from BB Online. It's a DVD that he got from the B&M store after returning the online DVD there.

Honestly, talk to the manager. Sometimes they'll let it go, just depends on if the manager is a asshole that day. If not, just take your business elsewhere.

Years ago our Blockbuster charged two $50 videogames to my account for a system I didn't own. I had never rented a single videogame on my account, ever.

I was a loyal customer, renting several VHS's a week, for several years.

It took nearly a month for the sons of bitches to get it sorted out. And I had to go speak to managers and jump through hoops.

I recommend Netflix.

sometimes they don't "check in" the movies.. had this happen to me a couple times.. just go find the movie in their store.. (if its a new release though that might be harder) and have them scan each one and they'll take it off your account..

mistakes happen..

i DO NOT recommend netflix

they are good at sending movies to you but after a couple months they seriously throtle back the account and it takes a good 2 weeks for them to send movies to you.. bad service.. bad option IMO

YES< do this, when i was on this plan, what i did, i would bring in the dvds i had checked out, along with the ones they mailed me through the BBO, and i would turn everything it all at once(the BBO and the ones i rented from the brick and mortar store).

Just stick to your guns, and keep talking to the managers, as long as youre not a dick they should work with you. The BB near me werent dishonest or assholes or anything, just sometimes lazy or prone to mistakes. i mean, these kids are getting minimum wage afterall.
