Blockbuster rent 2 for 10$ (ymmv)

Pharrell1

CAGiversary!
I went to blockbuster today and they had rent 2 games for 10 dollars on (Psp,Xbox, Playstation and Gamecube)

I didnt get any because I have gamefly and the selection was really old and bad. But it might work for some.

2 games=5 dollars each

Save 6 bucks?
Yup! they've been for 8 bucks since two years now. thats why I use gamefly.
Man, $8 is my price point to buy some games. It's not even worth renting a game for $8. You can probably buy a game and resell it to lose less than $8 on the deal.

Yeah, $8 for a game rental is pretty ass-crazy, but since my local store still has no late fees I take up the entire 2 weeks or whatever they give you before they charge you for the game. I figure less than a $1 a day is pretty good, especially since I rarely rent games.

I can almost never find two games I want to rent so usually don't rent anything

the deal is great though, actually makes renting affordable and slightly reasonable

Holy crap! I had no idea rentals costed that much these days. I used to get all upset when having to pay over $3.00 to rent a game when I was younger. I think I'll stick to buying games... It's cheaper

Blockbuster has "no late fee's".

I rent games and keep them for 28 days. At 15 days I get charged for the game, but it comes off immediately when I return it. All I have to pay is a 1.30 "late fee".

Since I get my game rentals for free (blockbuster online) $1.30 per month is a good deal :)

Yeah, the deal's old. They've been doing this since March. Which it's a good deal on new releases, but on most of the crap, it's cheaper to just buy them at GS used.

Hollywood Video is also doing the 2 for $10 deal on PS2, Xbox & GC games.

It's not really cheaper to buy 360 games or anything at Gamestop because even used they are still fuckin $54.99. For the extra five bucks I'll just get the brand new game.

I meant on the GC, Ps2 & Xbox games. Most of the stuff that rental stores still have on the shelves now is games that are less than $8 used at GS.

Most of the rare games have been sold or taken by people who "lost" it and bought it.

By the by, I'm not sure how related this is, but do any of the Blockbuster's near any of you cags rent DS games now? I was rather shocked, as some of the Blokbuster stores around me used to rent out DS games like three years ago when the system launched....but all have since gotten rid of the practice. Yet here they are, back on shelves again. I guess they can't deny the popularity.

Also interesting to note that either by chance or desgin, they also only stock first party DS games (i.e. only Nintendo published titles)

From what I recall they had:

Mario Kart
Brain Training
Big Brain Academy
Animal Crossing
Mario Hoops
Pokemon
Diddy Kong Racing
Kirby Squeak Squad
and New Super Mario bros.

Maybe not all that usefull, but interesting none the less!

Come to think of it, no, I haven't see any DS games for rent. They still have PSP games for rent though. It seems it's much like when they offered GBA games for rent, they eventually phased them out due to the times they were rented(not very profitable).
