I'm pretty sure there have been threads discussing this before but I couldn't find them so I'm gonna ask again.

Are memberships to BMG Music Club and Columbia House DVD club good deals or worth having?

I've read some users who've recommended simply signing up for the initial signup bonus , then buying the required membership amount then quitting , but what about sticking around? Do they really offer any deals that are good or better then elsewhere?

I know some people have also decried BMG because of its support of the RCAA.

I joined BMG's music club a few months back and got on the 15 for 1 offer, meaning I got 7 free, bought 1, and then got 7 more free. I used a 4 for 1 code to fulfill, which gave me the best per-disc cost. I also used tons of free CD codes that gave me another 31 discs worth of CDs (many of them have stopped working, though, and it's down to like 15 or 16.). I recently joined with another account and began the process again after sending them a cancellation request on my first account.

Find the BMG thread at DVD Talk.

I've heard people mention about getting the freebies , canceling and then rejoining for more freebies. But don't you have to wait like a year before being able to rejoin?
