Amazon:
PC - $45.49 ($40.94 with ECA membership)

Those looking to get into a group of 4 for the discount should go to this thread:

IMO, this game looks great and will probably keep me busy throughout the winter.

EDIT: Sorry I haven't been keeping track. Seems to be there really is no reason to since most of the prices suck. I'll try to keep more of an eye on it and update this thread more often. Sorry for the waste of space on this non-deal.

Stop littering this thread with trade-like posts, as they've been deleted. Go make a thread in the Master Trade Lists forum for banter back and forth related to trading/selling/buying parts of the four pack.
no dont do it lol dont update it!!!!!!!!!! I want in on that group haha
Just doing what the moderator said. Just go to the thread posted. You'll get into a group within the day.

Any three other CAGs want to set up for the $33.75 deal? The game should be activated on Steam any moment now.

I can set this up so just post here or let me know via PM.

I think you're in the wrong thread. There's a dedicated thread for hooking up with other ppl and forming a group.

Also, I was just looking for some clarification if someone could help me out:
How exactly does the 4-pack work? Say I purchase a 4-pack does, how would I receive the game keys and/or client from steam? Are they 4 unique keys I presume?
And then for public gamers (like on CAG) forming groups, I guess its based on trust in sending there share to the purchaser of the group, then that person would distribute the keys, or like a download file link for the game client?

Thanks as always

You'd buy the 4 pack and receive 3 extra copies as "gifts", which you can send to others via email or steam's friend list. It's done through trust, although linking to a profile showing you actually have the game, or having heat/ebay feedback helps too.
"Usually ships in 2-4 weeks"

Wow.
Yeaaaaaaaaaaaaaah, saw that too, pissing me off a bit. I'm concerned that it's going to affect existing preorders on the PC version, main reason being that Ratchet & Clank, which is released tomorrow, is already prepping to ship, but borderlands, which released today is still sitting in "items not yet shipped" status.

My friends already have the game. I was willing to wait a couple days, but damn, if Amazon is going to screw over PC customers like that i'll just have to cancel and go with steam.

Well I know the 360 and PS3 versions have hit a bit of a "limited production" snag in a few areas across the country since last week, and it was suggested it might take a bit to keep up with immediate demand, but I don't see why us PC'rs are getting the shaft.

Looks like I'll be forced to cancel my preorder with Amazon...though I would never had suspected it as they haven't failed me yet :(
Sorry if this has been asked, but I'll still be able to do the coop with people who buy a boxed copy, right?
...Yes...

I sent an e-mail inquiry to their customer service about the delay, when I hear back later tonight i'll post. Hopefully those of us who preordered will still get it in a reasonable amount of time. I mean fuck, that's what preorders are for, so they can figure out how many people want the game so they can get enough product from the manufacturer.

If they took preorders without the ability to honor them....then I'm blown away.

I put my preorder on amazon on sept 26..just realized they were having difficulties shipping out today, Im tempted to just buy it off steam. I only bought it off amazon beacuse i had gift cards

I have no idea whether to purchase it for 360, or PC.. I think I'm about to go out and rent it asap. Great reviews and looks like absolute fun to play with others :]

I complained to Amazon about the ridiculous shipping delay and was told they only quoted that based on the details they received from the supplier. They did however offer to upgrade me to 1 day shipping at no extra charge, but I canceled anyway...I just can't wait.

So those holding out might want to do the same and get lucky.

I recieved this from Amazon.

Hello,

I'm sorry for the inconvenience caused due to this matter.
I understand your concern regarding shipping of your order #xxx-xxxxxxxx-xx for the "Borderlands ".

Upon researching our website for the item, I found that the item is listed as "Usually ships within 2 to 4 weeks". Please be assured that, this wont effect your order as you have pre-ordered in October 1, 2009.
I see the estimated shipping and delivery dates for your order were revised after you placed your order. Here are your revised dates:

Estimated Shipping date: October 27, 2009
Estimated Delivery date: October 29, 2009
Who knows if this is accurate....but I guess I can wait an extra couple days. If it doesn't ship tommorow I'll just cancel though, far too impatient for this game.

I played the PC version last night. The graphics settings were definitely dumbed down for console compatibility. That being said I really enjoyed this game last night. I got to level 6 and defeated the first boss. Some of the enemies are dumb, and the game is far from perfect. However, I really had fun with it. I would say if you enjoyed Fallout 3, but just wanted it be more of a 1st person shooter you will really enjoy this one.

This is an Unreal Engine 3 game - and it looks like the (INI) setting configs and stuff haven't changed very much from other UE3-based games.

So, you might want to look at THIS THREAD, if you actually wanna play w/ the game's INI files and tweak some settings - which is always USE AT YOUR OWN RISK when playing w/ .INI files.

NOTE: About playing w/ INI files - just make sure before you make any changes, you back-up the original ones that are running the game just fine somewhere else or you can leave them in the folder but just make sure rename those files you plan to change in that folder to something close to what they were originally were - usually, I keep the name but add at the end of the file "_old.ini". Playing w/ INI files sometimes break game features and your game entirely.
