Borders closing sales - Blus still available on last days

I have now hit 2 closing Borders stores to find Blus still in stock on the last day, when discounts are usually "everything for .99"

Stuff that has been available on the last days (obviously YMMV) have been:

S. Darko
Jennifer's Body
Heathers
Hellboy Animated Double Feature (some 1 disc, some 2 disc versions)

Just want to make sure that people watch any local closing Borders (they are all closing on different schedules). At .99, it's worth it for the cases...

Is there any way to find the closing schedules?

Here in CA last week the Glendale store closed on Tuesday and the Pasadena store closed on Saturday and Sunday comes after...wards...

I'm waiting for my Borders to drop into the 70%-90% range before I head out there.

Otherwise, it's still more expensive than everywhere else.

For my area it was 70-90% for the last week or so and 90% or $1.25 (whichever is less) on the very last day, but they closed at 4pm instead as they're dismantling everything.

The updated closing list - any of the stores not marked with May closes (the new stores) should be closing down within the next couple of weeks. One of my stores closed today (they started at $1.25 per item, but went to .99 at 10:30 or so). the other store I happened upon closed last Thursday.

Your best bet is to call them and ask them if they're close.

Even at 70% off, I got the U2 360 Rose Bowl Blu for like $7... And a bunch of Heathers and Hellboys today. like I said, a good deal just for elite cases :)
you know there IS a thread already made about this.....
You say this in every thread about Borders... Link it or shut the fuck up. I searched and still didn't find the original thread that you claim exists.

Thanks CRG! I'll have to call the two closing that are *relatively* near me and see when their last day is.

I had one close, it's a shame because I like the place. Anyway, I meant to go back on one of the last days but it closed on like a Sunday or something stupid. I was disappointed becasue there were few things I wanted to get that I knew would be marked down on the last day. I didn't I didn't know stuff was going for THAT cheap though. A couple of days before they closed there was a ton of DVD/Blu Ray's still.

Does anyone in the Cleveland area know if the Mentor and Medina stores are still open? And what there last day is if they are?

And I think this thread is a day too late. From what I read around the web, the non-may closing stores all either closed Sunday or yesterday.
Damn, I wish our Borders was closing!
One of the few stores you can honestly say that about.

You know, there is a no-life pantywaist already trolling the forums...

Nice they added the last store within 40 miles of me in March. Guess they still need to cut costs.

The only deal I saw was Santa Buddies for 90%. The majority of good titles went out at 50%.

"a" as in singular? No, there's plenty more than just one.

You accidentally the whole Blu-ray? Are you under some assumption that these are used? Do you even know what Borders is?

Hey, people were told to lay off me if they started speaking out their ass like you are. I'd advise laying off before you get reported.

A store near me is listed as late May, does that mean the liquidation has started now and the store will close in late May, or they won't start clearancing until then?

I assume the Howard Hughes center location is already gone - can anyone confirm?

Looks like Hollywood is the only one left, closing in "late May".

For the ones near me that are listed as late May, it means they're closing in late May and that their liquidation has already started.

I assume the Howard Hughes locations is already closed. I haven't gone to check, but calling gives me the inactive phone line sound, same as the defunct Sherman Oaks, Glendale, Pasadena, and Valencia locations.

Howard Hughes and Century City locations are both closed. Hollywood one is closing in next couple weeks. I went in there yesterday, things were still at 40% off (non-deals) range.

I'm pretty sure it's just select locations that are closing. It's a lot of locations but last I looked they were keeping the most profitable stores open.

Well, ours wasn't listed, but I happened to drive by and noticed that they're only open for a few more days. I spent $75 on books I don't need and now I feel empty. But hey, when we're homeless and hungry, at least I'll have reading material.

The Philadelphia store will be closing for good Sunday. Prices as of Thursday are 70% off movies and CDs, and 70-80% off books. Unfortunately, there's only enough stuff left to fill about 50% of the first floor, and what's left is pretty dire. And it's fricking packed with shoppers.

Best deal I found was the Heathers Blu-ray (now out-of-print) for $6. Other random stuff spotted:

Friday the 13th (remake, Blu-ray): $6
The Hellboy cartoon double-pack (Blu-ray)
Traitor (Blu-ray): $6
Obama's Wars by Woodward (a tableful)
A metric buttload of Brandon Flowers/Josh Groban/Sting Christmas album CDs (...yeah, scraping bottom here.)
