What a surprise this past weekend had in store for CAG Box Office. Only 6 CAG's chose R.V. as the number one movie in America. And of those 6, Tyga24 extended his/her wins to 7, moving to a lone first place. Some other movers and shakers this week: darkmere and Maklershed moved up to 6 wins, Stevesbored moved up to 3 wins, pinoy530 has his second win in a row and is at 2 wins, and TimPV3 got his first win. Congratulations to you all!

What a weekend it was for movie goers. Even though R.V. was #1, it was a VERY close race for second between 9/11 themed United 93 and gymnastics go getter Stick It. Even Silent Hill still seemed to be in the running.

Thanks as always to the IMDB
Be sure to vote for who you think will rake in the most money this weekend and feel free to discuss the box office. Also, be sure to go out and support your favorite movie!

wtf?! Hoot? what is this liberal pissy save the owls shit? I remember when kids would watch movies like GI Joe where they kicked the crap out of stuff....

MI3. Only hookers offering head for 1.50 could stop the the juggernaut that is MI3. Stupid fucking hoot. If hoot is number #1, I would kick luke wilson in the nuts.

It feels good to be the MAN on top of the box office thread after 10 weeks. Thanks Danro, for keeping up with this thread, I really enjoy trying to pick which film will win the weekend (those Madea movies screwed me over the first 2 weeks). It looks like the summer blockbuster season begins with M:I-3 and I think it will be an easy box office win despite TC's craziness. The only reason that I will be seeing it is because I picked up the M:I boxset with the free ticket a few weeks ago, otherwise I would've waited for DVD.

United 93 should've won last week. It was a great movie.

Ah, wel. Thanks for keeping up with these threads, Danro!

This is probably a free pass for another victory for everyone.

Except Greetard. XD

RV was in twice the theaters of United 93 was in. if they opened in the same number theaters, United 93 might have won it.

At the rate United 93 was going, the same amount of theatres as RV, would've guaranteed the top spot for it.

"Shut ya fuckin' lip."

There's no contest this weekend. Its gonna be Mission Impossible 3 for sure. In fact, I can predict the next 4 weeks actually.

This weekend-MI3
Next weekend-Poseiden
5/19- Da Vinci Code (although Over the Hedge could be a strong contender but I think the parents will leave the kids at home and see Da Vinci)
5/26-X-men 3

Advertising makes it, I know I was wrong about The Sentinel but that was a fluke because I didn't count on the reviews being so bad for it.

america still loves tom cruise...mi3 is this week's pick.

i'm 6-1 now, not bad...too bad i had to pick a crapfest like rv, but that says something about what people want to see. start going to better movies people!
Mission Impossible 3

Oh, and I have one win as well.
Ug, I went through my database and couldnt find your win, do you remember which thread it was? Im sorry if I missed it.

Remember CAG's: you cant win if you dont vote :D

Also, I thought MI3 was going to be a unanimous CAG decision.

I fucked up and clicked the wrong button. I meant to select MI3, not American Haunting. Oh well.

Would be a fucking riot if American Haunting took the top spot away from Cruise and company. I wouldn't even be disappointed about not winning if that were to happen.

80 million seems bold for a third installment of a tom cruise film given the negative press cruise has received over the past year and the slump in box office.

I'm taking the long shot and saying United 93. I know it has no chance of winning the box office number but it should. Amazing movie.

Even with Hoffman in it, I cant imagine MI:3 being any better than the other two which I thought were merely ok.

Besides, joining in round 10, I don't have much of a chance of pulling into the lead anyways heh.

Even though I'm staying far away from this movie, I'm voting on MI:3. No way that it can fail, unles *gasp* America actually gets sick of Tom Cruise and his crazy ways.

One thing to consider would be reseting the win totals at regular intervals (maybe every 3 months) so that new players who start playing have a chance to catch up.

Great idea my wise friend. I will restart the totals every 3 months, separating them by seasons. So we will end this first season with thread #12, then start again with thread #1 season 2.
