Broke ps3 for new slim - Deal/Scheme/Scam?

I've been offered by a user on here to swap my broken ps3 for a working slim ps3, all I need to do is pay £100.

I haven't yet asked if the slim is new with warranty etc but I wondered if anybody on here has done a deal like this in the past and been happy?

I think I'd need to pay up front which sounds too much like a scam to me but the guy says he has been doing this for the last year or so.

Before I even think about this deal I thought I'd check if anybody else been offered the same deal.

The rule of thumb is: if it sounds too good to be true--it probably is.

Is it a reputable CAG? Chances are if he has been a member for years and has good trading feedback you should be alright. Your always taking a risk dealing with people on the internet though so its up to you.

If you broken PS3 is BC it would make sense to have such an interest in it, even if it's broken (many times they can be easily fixed). My advice would be to check is trading feedback and get a complete rundown of the state of the Slim he's trying to trade with you (how old is it, if it has been modded in any way, etc)
