Brothers In Arms DS?
This was the fisrt time I actually saw it running. wtf....
How did they even get the DS to do this. It's going to set some sort of benchmark for DS games after release even if it does suck.

Ubisoft rocks.

The sound in that video won't be the sound from the final game. There's no way. The game looks great though

Looks great graphically, but I hope they aren't going to be gimmicky with the touch screen (aka push the sand off the map or whatever).

I guess the game takes about an hour to beat. Looks like another rush job, to bad because this looks like it had great potential.

Huh? A trailer makes a game look like a rush job even though it clearly has some of the best graphics and sound a DS game has ever seen?

Yeah, some guy said he beat the first (out of three) campaigns in 45 minutes....not a good sign.

The graphics and sound are great though.

Also, there is no WiFi, or bots.

It's odd how everyone kows "some guy" or "that guy".
I hope to meet him someday so I can say that.

Hey, you don't have to believe me, that's just what I've read. :whistle2:|

From the few minutes I played, the graphics are indeed very nice. Frame rate is unfortunately not the best. Controls aren't as tight as I would like them to be. Aiming is much more erratic than MPH.
Dang. Is it being developed by Gearbox or someone else?
I think it's being developed by GameLoft, since their company's logo is displayed at the end of the video. It isn't surprising, considering that Gameloft's previous DS games, the Asphalt Urban GT series, have been praised for their graphics.

Over at GameFAQs, RayLancer posted quite a bit of feedback for this game. From the sound of things, it plays more like Medal of Honor than Brothers in Arms (No Squad control). Other impressions show that this game's single-player mode is very short, though it sounds like an overall solid game. Check out the topic here:
Ok, I played it for a bit, let me just say a few things about the game.

Brother in Arms, I love the series, however one thing let me down... there's no squad based control. Thats right... something that made BiA unique from other WWII shooters, its totally absent. Gone also is the first person view (the video and screenshots are a big giveaway), the entire game is played from 3rd person view. If you ever seen Resident Evil 4, you should know what I mean. The character is offcenter more toward the left, but aiming is done with the stylus, while the D-pad is movement with the L button for shooting. All other actions, like throwing a grenade into enemy tanks (highly fun btw), is done by pressing the action button on the stylus. The controls, are a bit sluggish. They're nothing like Metroid Prime Hunters, which could be a good or bad thing for certain people. Its just, the controls aren't too responsive. Gernade throwing takes a while to get used to since you use the stylus and move it up vertically to "lob" it. After a bit of practice, aiming it shouldn't be too bad. You can take cover behind certain objects which causes your character to automatically crouch. Around corners, you can jump out and fire and take cover behind the corner of the wall after you are done firing. Its kind of like Ghost Recon Advance Warfighter or Kill.Switch with its corner firing.

Weapons have unlimited ammo except for the bazooka. You just need to reload. You start off with the M1 Thompson, but are able to pick up the bazooka and M1903 (?) Springfield sniper rifle. I don't know if there are any other weapons, but for through 1 entire campaign, thats all you get. No M1 Carbine/Garand, no enemy weapons.

The graphics are nice, and what they did with the game is impressive. The explosions, the gunshots, the soldiers running around, it is a very impressive looking DS game. However, the DS hardware is limited and the game does show its limitation. There are occassional times when the firefight gets pretty intensive and the framerate starts to drop. (Well, one of the scene for example, had the DS rendering 4 soldiers on my team with a few Sherman tanks while trying to battle the enemy Nazis and their panzers, all while explosions were going off). The game does have its slow downs, but, nothing too serious.

There are some bugs and other nuissances with the game. Like on the last mission on Normandy, on the last mine you need to place by the bus, I ran up there to place it (using the action button), however an enemy tank rolled by and my character went ahead and jumped on the tank to lob a grenade into it. After it exploded, my character was stuck between the bus and the dead tank. What made it worse is the fact that its also where the checkpoint is at, so I had to restart otherwise I would die for the insane amount of fire from the enemy. Cover is kind of weird. Since you cannot crouch down, the game does it for you when you approach objects. While most of the cover makes sense, some does not make your character crouch, making you vulnerable to enemy fire. After you play through a few missions, you should be able to see what will give you cover. I wish there was a option to manually crouch instead.

This may sound like a lot of negativity from my part, and I think I nitpicked the game to death. However, I never said I didn't like it. I honestly thing its still a fun game despite some of its shortcoming. I wish the controls were a bit more responsive, that would be my main complaint. The game looks nice, and the gameplay is fun. You are almost never alone in the game as you are supported by your AI teammates. They may not be the smartest AI, but it helps with the immersion of the WWII battlefield.

I'll continue to post more feedbacks later, hopefully someone else can add more to what I said. Again, don't let my comments scare you. Its a great game, and its only my opinion anyhow.
Nah i'm just saying everybody seems to know somebody else.
Even when i'm talking to friends I usually hear "... well I know this guy, I dunno if you know em" and I never do. Ever.

I guess I don't know enough people. That might be my problem.

Someone quoted me on gameFAQs :D. There are other weapons in the game, but apparently I haven't gotten anything new in the "Normal" campaign. I guess all the other weapons show up in "Veteran" mode. Check this out if you're curious about the game.

Actually I thought the same thing till today.
IGN did a preview and it has a few new movies.

http://media.ds.ign.com/media/891/891478/vids_1.html

Allies call out mission objectives in recorded voice-over, and all missions have a structure where scripted events happen as players move complete tasks and reach certain points in the map.

Lots of chatter in the 2 new vids.

In a week or two, but apparently it's out to download on the net 'cause I played it on a friend's DS today and it's FANTASTIC.

The D-Pad controls the movement. The stylus lets you look around and the L button shoots. To reload, similar to Touch the Dead, drag the bullets over the gun. Tap the binoculars to go into "aim mode". When you tap the grenade, the view switches to a top-down view of the battlefield and it will show you where the grenade will land. The only complaint I have is that my gun is firing in burst fire rather than automatic. It's annoying hearing "bangbangbang *pause* bangbangbang *pause* bangbangbang".. it may be the gun or my stupidity, but I can't get it to switch to automatic.

This is an absolute must have for the DS.
