so I order 3 1g sd cards for photo frames i bought as gifts. I ordered them from amazon, not a seller. they were kingston cards (i have other kingston cards and am pleased with their performance) upon inspection they say made in taiwan, my other kingstons say made in japan. being a broke ass cag I was very excited to have to make a trip to bb to pick up some new cards.

has anybody had any issue like this? it was weird because i put files on the cards but they wouldnt read when put in anything else.

ill be dealing with amazon after the holiday.
It doesn't matter where they are from. Just make sure they work. Don't lose sleep over this.
im up at work. i wish i could be sleeping. the new cards work, and theyre also 1gb kingstons. id heard of peopel gettgin bunk cards from amazin, but thought it was sellers through amazon.

There are legit Kingston SD and micro SD cards made in both Japan and Taiwan. The Japanese cards are superior, especially if you are involved in the DS flashcart scene. Should not make a major difference for photographs though. One thing to do is to make sure to format them correctly before use:

1. Right Click on My Computer.

2. Select Manage --> opens up a window, on the left column choose Disk Management.

3. From the right panel, lower section, right-click on your media drive (whatever drive your micro SD card is in) --> choose format.

4. Select FAT (AKA:FAT16), with 32K clusters.

Good luck! Sometimes bum cards make it through screening, occurs more frequently with the Taiwanese cards so Amazon should not give you any hassle over replacing them!

Have a Merry Christmas,

Alex

How exactly is that amazon's fault though? They order their supplies from Kingston and resell them. It's not like they control which cards they get

Exactly. Plus you are giving this as gifts to put in digital photo frames. Why would it matter where it's made?
