What proposal? That people educate themselves as to what their government is doing, and know where their tax money is being spent? I got no problem with that, information is a good thing. I don't know if hammering them with mass produced faxes or emails is inherently beneficial, though; but it's better than nothing, i guess.
I was pleasantly surprised, there was some actual truth in there .
"The federal budget...is your money."
Of course, the implication that the school systems dont' get enough money is totally false--there are billions out there that are not being spent. There certainly are school systems and districts that don't get enough, but that should be solved at the local or state level.
Of course, arguably, the only way federal dollars should be spent is on military/protection/security, because without that, nothing else matters. [And regulating interstate/intercontitental trade, and providing a federal court system.] Rather than using those other cookies to increase federal control of local matters, I'd support sending those cookies back to the people or the states so they can use it as they need on the things their citizens want and need.
