Building a new PC

Hey, this is my first thread. Also my first post.

Recently, my computer exploded on my leg. Like, seriously.

I know what's wrong, and how to fix it... But thought it would be a good time to upgrade.

Now, I'm no hardcore PC gamer... So I just need a decent CPU and Graphics Card.

I thought this would be the best place to ask... I'm not looking for the best of the best or something like that. But decent.

Any suggestions (Would be kind of you to post a price along with it).

Also, as I said. I'm new here and don't know if this is the proper place for a thread like this.

Thanks.

In order for people to help you, its best to include as much information as possible.

Here's a list of things that would be helpful:

Maximum budget for the build, purpose of the PC (be specific, eg. gaming, htpc, video editing), what types of programs/games do you plan to run, are there parts from your old PC that you plan to reuse (list them), do you plan to overclock

You can find some recent builds that people have made in the PC section too.

Maximum budget is $200 (This is Cheap Ass Gamer, after all).

It's for gaming purposes.

And I plan to reuse everything except the CPU and Graphics card, as they are in good condition and actually pretty good.

And call me a newb, but I pretty much have no idea what overclocking is.

Need to know the socket type on your mobo a well, amd and intel use very different sockets for their processors.
