Burnout 3 $20 soon!

Scahom1

CAGiversary!
Just got the new issue of GamePro in at my store today. On the back cover there is an ad for Burnout 3, with a new $19.99 price tag (With the GH/PH banners on the respective boxes. Looks like a price drop will happen soon.
It's been $20 for weeks at Target
And the point of this thread is to let people know it will soon be 20 everywhere, since many people did not find it at Target, and that the pricedrop wasn't just Target exclusive.

..and most places price match, so it's just a simple phone call away. I wasn't threadcrapping, I was just informing the OP that it's already $20 at Target in case he wants one now.

It would be some sort of divine intervention for a CC / Best Buy to call a different store to price match, and then have the employee at the other store actually know what was going on.

The stores here only price match out of an ad (or a receipt, I believe), so at least now I, and others, have a chance at getting 19.99 Burnout 3 goodness.

Both the BB and CC by my house have told me that if the store I am trying to get a pricematch from is sold out they will not match it. The BB worker called the Target and told them they were sold out, and in turn he told me that they would not price match. Now I can finally get Burnout 3 for $20.

Hey, great, thanks for the threadcrapping! This place will be turning into the Anandtech Hotdeals forum very soon. Take it elsewhere.

Great deal for a great game.

this is a great game, highly recommended... i love the custom soundtracks feature because i play the techno/trance music from initial D as the tracks... the music always keeps me going...

Unless you live in the middle of bumfuck nowhere, an employee in the game section at Target should be competent enough to type "Burnout" and filter by XBox in the computer..

Even if CC or BB DID call to price match, many times they would ALSO ask of the game was in stock

Finding the game was hit or miss for many on this forum... miss with me for about 3 weeks until I spotted one single XB copy at my target last weekend
Additionally a $20 price point everywhere will mean $15 after GGC at Bestbuy and $13.50 preowned AC at EBgames.com.
Damn, beaten by one post . . . this is the most important post in the thread :)

$15 new or $13.50 complete shipped from EB (and if you trade non-excluded $5 games at EB in a tradein deal that gets $10 in credit . . . it would be $7 out of pocket). Forget $50 at launch, my kind of price (for most games) is $7 about a year after release.

This is why it will be near impossible for me to buy any of the new consoles at launch . . .

Best Buy or Circuit City won't call out in the first place, so it's a moot point.

I used to work at Best Buy, and the phones at the cashier lanes don't even dial out, so I'd have to wait in line for roughly 25 minutes at customer service for them to *hopefully* call Target.

Plus the stores here aren't that trusting to just rely on an anonymous employee to quote them a price.

Picked up a copy last week at Target, I recommend you buy it from there or other stores that will drop the price, quickly if you dont want the greatest hits label on it.

I never waste my time trying a PM without a printed ad that shows the price from the other store.

Scorch, you might have avoided the flames by saying something like:

"This has been $20 for a while at Target B&M, great to hear it's having a Universal drop!"

Scorch might have not been flamed if he had not simply opened his mouth:lol:;). But your suggestion is just as good though.

Yeah, I'm going to get Burnout 3: Takedown for the Xbox, before the "Platinum Hits" version ships to stores...:D

At least for the PS2 version, it's fairly easy to find the non-GH version after it's dropped for quite a while. I still see non-GH versions of Jak 2 floating around. The outside packaging has the GH sticker on it but that's of no consequence. Not so much so for Xbox games I've noticed though.

My target's still have it 39.99. I asked the worker today there and he said he doesn't know anything about it being $20 and his computer shows 39.99
burnout 3 is now $20 (new) at EBgames.com...PO is still lagging is price...should come shortly...I can almost taste it!
Shows up $39.99 for me. :?

Now it's showing up at $19.99. It also has coupon code "FREE3DAY" for free 3 day shipping.

Picked my XBox version at Target for $20 a few days ago. They had the PS2 and XBox versions available.
