Burnout Legends (req 1.5 or higher)

I recently got burnout legends from frys for only 37.99 and picked up a copy for my friend. I must say the game is fantastic and really fun on the go. My friend comes over the other day and i hand him the copy and say lets play! Then he boots up and it says its cannot run unless he installs 1.52! I updated my psp to 2.0 cause i didn't do much homebrewing but he was a big homebrewer. I'm thinking all the new games are like this? Is anyone working on emulators for 2.0?

First, change the title from (req 1.5 or higher) to (req 1.52 or higher) thats actually a big difference right there. More games will start req. upgrades before they can play. Some to simple patch up the security holes, some to use new features that were part of the upgrade (ex. Web Browser).

People are trying to crack 2.0, wether by getting around that just like 1.5, or by some weird way to downgrade to 1.5. Theres always something in the works

Burnout Legends is awesome, no doubt. Feels just like Burnout 3, but with some throwbacks to Burnout 1 and 2 (like tracks and pursuit mode). Here's a mini review for you guys -

Pro's:

- Short load times. I average about 8 seconds per race, which is easily managable.

- Sense of speed is still intact. This game looks and plays just like it's console brethren. I was a bit worried that they may lose something in the transtition, but nope, this game is Burnout through and through.

- All the modes are still there - Road Rage, Crash, World Tour, and now Pursuit... lots and lots of replay value in this one. All the signature takedowns made it over as well. The game is very robust in what it offers.

- No announcer!!!!!! Plus, all the music from Burnout Revenge made it intact, lyrics and all. Pretty impressive feat.

Con's:

- Some slowdown, namely when ALOT of shit is happening on the screen. This occurs very rarely, lasts for like half a second, and then it's gone.

- My hands cramp up after awhile... that's just the design of the analog stick, though, not the game

I was never into the homebrew scene, because I own most of the older games I want to play (that and SNES emulation is still iffy), so I gladly decided to upgrade to 1.52. I'm glad I did, because Burnout Legends is the first game that makes me glad I bought a PSP... hell, the last time I used the thing was in early June.

This is probably *the* PSP game to own right now - I honestly can't wait to see what all the other big names will be like now, namely GTA, since it shows that the PSP can pull off ps2 quality titles.

I'm so tempted to upgrade... but I don't want to lose Zelda, Arkanoid, and Tecmo... especially Tecmo... What happens if you upgrade with the NES stuff on your memory card and you try to access it? I really want to go out and get Burnout... I'm just not sure if the fun I'll have with Burnout over the next few weeks would be worth dumping all those NES games - I haven't even tried SNES yet but there are major framerate issues from what I understand...

Due to having my PSP stolen (damnit...) i cant get too in depth here, but one way or the other you can play Burnout Legends on a 1.5 psp. There SHOULD be a program out there that boots the umd and skips the 1.52 check and you can play it that way. Otherwise its that whole "d/l iso, hook boot" blah blah blah kind of stuff to get it to run. I know it at least works the second way

This was not the case at E3, the track on the demo units there had no sense of speed at all. I'm happy to say that I've played the release version and it does convey the sense of speed well. From my hazy E3 memory I think the graphics were sharper then, but in a Burnout game I would rather have the speed.
How is the game? You liking it? Played it on XBC yet?
He's talking about the PSP version McFly
