I was reading an Email today with my manager and it seems that GS wants to get more competitive with the up and comers such as Game Rush who offer high trade in values for new games. Newer games that cost $50 will be going for $35 trade in. Unfortunally, that's all I can remember right now, so I can't tell you more. I'll go back into work tommorrow to get full details.

Edit: Just remembered, the $35 will last for only 10 days after a game comes out. After that it will drop.
That's cool, I personally trade my unwanted games away but it would make a nice backup for something less wanted, coughXeno2cough.
Well that is a bit less useful, I'm actually surprised they are doing this. They make quite a decent profit off people who buy up titles like DMC only to trade them back in 5 days later for half price.

True, but it does allow the person to at least only lose a minimum of 12 bucks instead of 20.

Heh.. they still can't beat my Rhino.. if you buy it and decide it sucks, return it within seven days for a full refund.. in store credit, of course.

Very true, but it removes a nice little profit from their pockets. I've known several people with more money than sense and hey if it kept EB in buisness I was okay with it.

Yet again, true. But what I believe they are going for is to appeal to the people who have moved from GS to GC, GR, or EB and to come back.

Well I guess this is kind of nice for a game you guy but really don't like or that you beat right away. I'm hoping EB will follow this raising of tradein values so we can have a REAL price war start up. One thing is for sure, when a price war starts, CAG wins!

well that kills it right there. For just about ANY game i will wait 2 weeks and some store will have it on sale for $30 or $35(CC, BB, frys etc).

If there is a game that i am planning on just playing through, beating and then selling/trading i would just use a rental coupon from doing blockbuster.com(they give 2 free rentals from B&M per month)
Just put it on half.com as like new. $45 every time.
half.com takes 15% of the sale price.. pretty lame...plus you have to ship the game and hope it arrives at the other end..and if it doesn't, then you have the fun of dealing with the other party and half.com

this gamestop thing is basically 15 bucks for a 10 day rental..which is idiotic..you might as well rent the game at ballbuster for 6.99 and beat it and return it.
