Buy Rite got owned.

I remember I ordered a birthday present (game) from Buyrite a couple months in advance many years ago. The product never came. After over a month of sending emails and attempting to reach a live person over the phone, I finally gave up. I filed a dispute with my credit card provider since I didn't know where else to turn.

I didn't hear anything from anyone for like another 2 months. Then one day I check my bank statement and saw that my payment to BuyRite was refunded by my CC in full.

The kicker? That SAME day, someone from BuyRite emailed me and started bitching about how my actions cost them $35 in fees from Visa. I'm dead serious, he actually emailed me personally for this.

I'm thrilled to hear about this. I ordered about $250 worth of stuff from them about 2 years ago; a Game Axe and about $50 in NES games. Now, understand that the NES is my favorite console of all time, so I was a little upset 3 weeks down the road when I still hadn't seen one damned package from them. An email from them in the weeks after I ordered said that they didn't actually have any Game Axes in stock.

They just said on their site that it was "in stock!" for fun & profit, I guess. Also, I never got the games, either. Needless to say, it was almost a very expensive mistake, but my parents managed to get the money back. It was only after all this that I discovered that "not screwing people over" didn't fit into their business plan. Now the plan has failed and I'm glad.
