Buying a 50" Plasma... PC Connection.com?

WildWop

CAGiversary!
I'm looking for a TH-50PHD7UY Panasonic 50" Plasma, and Pricegrabber comes up wit a number of online retailers that I've (and no surprise here, really) never heard of. I was wondering if anyone has ordered from PCConnection.com, and what they thought of the whole process.

I've checked resellerratings.com, and while their rating is above 8, it's based on less than 100 lifetime reviews.

So.. anyone?

I don't know much about PCConnection but as someone who spent money on big ticket items over the internet before, let me give you some advice :

Go with a "name brand" website, even if it costs you a little bit more money. There is no hassle in the world like trying to return something you bought over the internet.

If it was something like a cheap game or a cable or something, I'd say go for it. But when you're spending at least a thousand dollars you should be really picky about what website you buy from.

Just my $0.02.

I've ordered several items from PCConnection.com over the past two years, and they have always been very accurate and reliable in fulfilling my order. Their prices have also been very good on the items that I purchased. As mmn mentions above though, I've never ordered a $1000+ item from them. Perhaps another CAG has had experience with this.

I highly recommend them!

The problem is, by going name brand I pay $500 - $1000 more for this type of item. In the case of Amazon (the low end of difference at ~$500) they don't take returns on TV's over 27" at all. At least ShadyMcShady.com takes returns...
