CAGcast #105: CheapyD Stinks!
COD4 can definitely use a fix in the invites department.. Its taken me a couple of times to try and join up with other CAGS for online team ups. But basically you want to be able to invite friends that aren't already playing the game. Well the in-game XMB is coming out sometime this year.. so hopefully it'll solve a lot of PS3 online issues. But I wonder how many people are going to stop being on live once In game XMB is implemented. At that time, Sony's online service will then be pretty much equal to XBL.
No, I want to be able to invite people who are actually playing the game. The problem for my friend was that the guy wasn't on his buddy list, and every time I sent an invite it would never go through, so we had no way to get him into our party without quitting the game.

oh yeah that does suck. but overall the game is still pretty good. All the times I'm playing with other CAGs it takes a bunch of times to get me into their party. But that's the developers error, its not like Sony's online system has disallowed them from getting it right. Burnout got it right...

Cheapy and Wombat, or Wombat and Cheapy: as always, great show. Althought the toilet humor gives me some gripes, you're really great (c'mon Cheapy, either your wife has the flu or we finally know why you have been in youporn lately!!!).

Something that you mentioned in this show, about DLC, especially on movies and music. I don't see what's the point on Microsoft blocking the international customers for downloading music videos, TV shows and movies. First of all, you will always find them somehow (via e-mule, bitorrent, you name them). Second: wouldn't they prefer for us to pay them to download these files, instead of finding them thru other ways?!? Third: I agree with you: no way I'm paying money to no one for a demo. ITS A DEMO, FOR CHRIST SAKE!!! We should put those in the same list were the "already-on-the-disc" DLC companies are.

And what's the point also on blocking demos on diferent regions? Some companies do need to grow up and keep their customers happy (ask the US soldiers around the world how they feel when they can't download files to their 360s when legally they are on US soil!!!

Take care guys. Keep it up.

P.S. I think the final winner will be DLC on the format wars. What would you prefer: wait until who knows when to have a blue ray copy of your favorite movie/TV show, or have it downloaded when you want it?

Microsoft isn't blocking international customers, it's a licensing issue. The rights to distribute the same media are often owned by different companies in different parts of the world. Securing those rights is a nightmare. You can blame lawyers and greed.

I'd rather have the Blu-ray copy. It's easily transferable between devices, provides a much higher audio and video bitrate, and I can resell it.

Lots of good banter in this podcast. Random personal stories are usually nice to hear when it comes from you guys. I just wanted to say that Cheapy, your rodney dangerfield was really good. Also Im 25 and I wear bow ties that i tie myself.(its not a job requirement or anything) I can see why you might think its out of place but i recieve many compliments when i wear em. It is nice that OG came out to help you this cast but whens the live cagcast with tai crying in the background?

Did cheapy ever see this?
