I guess you can listen to Wombat's other podcast, Uninformed Opinions.

Why didn't Wombat download Outlast, Contrast, ResoGun, etc? You can claim PS+ games without actually owning a PS4 on Sony's digital store website.

I didn't even think of it. I was still able to get resogun though. No outlast or contrast for me.

Thanks for the show fellas!  This'll give me something to listen to to block out all thoughts and feelings about the NCAA tourney after yesterday's pitiful performances by Ohio State and UC.  Thank goodness that Major League Baseball's 2014 season starts tomorrow.

@Wombat

Even easier; you can "purchase" all the PS+ stuff (for ps3/ps4/psvita) via the Playstation app on your smartphone.

BTW: Contrast is horrible but Outlast is actually worth buying at retail price.

So what I got out of the podcast is that we should all send Wombat butt plugs? Is this a correct assumption?

Oh snap, Shipwreck shit story.

Also, Wombat was thinking of Gran Turismo HD Concept.

shipwreck (I see you reading this right now)-- you and the other hosts are so wrong about Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes. You're mainly parroting uninformed opinions on it by other people who haven't played the game.

I think you and Cheapy need to put your money where your mouth is (or "Play this bitches!") and put down $30 and play it on PS4, and then come back next week with your opinions on it.

In terms of my experience-- the main mission was about 2.5 hours long. This whole 1 hour thing is ridiculous. Maybe it was a little longer for me because I turned off Tagging and Reflex mode immediately in the options because that's not really what I want from my Metal Gear experience-- so it was probably a little harder for me to get through. My clear time said 112 minutes, but that doesn't include the 30 or so minutes that I played and died before hitting the next checkpoint in various spots nor does it include the 10 minute intro or the 10 minute outro sequences.

The whole thing about this being an FMV was also ridiculous-- as I mentioned there's an intro and a couple of outro cutscenes and that's it. This game is 95% gameplay. After you beat the Ground Zeroes mission you unlock 4 extra missions, and there's an additional 1 secret mission you get access to (on PS3/4 it's the MGS1 Deja Vu mission) by collecting the 9 XOF patches scattered around the map.

I've played 2 of the extra missions, and while they are on the same map, they are definitely different than the main mission. One of them is a pretty fun mission where you're in a helicopter chase and then get on the ground where a boss fight sort of ensues (something which isn't even in the Ground Zeroes mission). I spent close to 90 minutes playing through both of these missions.

The map is pretty dense, there's a lot of stuff to do which is why it's great to have multiple things to do on it through the different missions.

And most importantly, the gameplay mechanics are GREAT and the way this game is structured gives you a chance to experiment with the mechanics to the fullest and have a lot of fun playing around with the AI. I know if I was just dropped into Phantom Pain without a prologue like this I probably wouldn't let myself experiment with the mechanics so much and see what the different play styles I could use.

There's at least 4 solid hours of gameplay here, even going through it on normal difficulty, and only once through. And if going through it again in harder difficulties or experimenting with the sandbox appeals to you, then there's even more here.

edit: also reason why people can speed run the main mission in like 10 minutes is because once you know how to beat the game you don't have to go through the process of exploring the map to figure out what to do. You're not going to do that first time around.

Hey, Cheapy and the gang.  Next episode is #360.  You've come all the way around.  Or your podcast has become a video game console.  One of the two.

I thought the guys were overly harsh on Ground Zeroes.  I don't think there's anything wrong with it expect that it's $10 overpriced.  I'm not a huge Metal Gear fan and don't own a new console, so there's no way I'm paying $30 for the PS3 or 360 version.  But later this year when I have a PS4 I might grab it for around $15.  The Giant Bomb Quick Look made it seem like a lot of fun.

Titanfall must be a real mess on Cheapy's PC if it runs less smoothly than the Xbox One version which tears and drops frames all over the place.

On today's CAGcast Wombat wants to get neutered. In my opinion snipping is reserved for animals and stupid people, basically shit that you don't want reproducing. But Wombat is an animal, soo... Plus I hear that your balls fockin hurt after. What if they fock up and cut your dick off, what if future Mrs. Wombat #2 wants kids? Hmmm, have you ever thought of that? I also enjoyed  how Wombat pretended  to be clueless how VR works.  Wombat and every male CAG is getting VR. Why you ask? Because of the games but primarily because of porn.  3D VR PORN, enough said.  And that's what the Oculus Rift has over Sony, and also a cooler name.  Good show guys, and thank you to Wombat's secret big tipper. I really want to know what Wombat thinks of his PS4 vs XBONE? Btw Wombat deserves the PS4 cause he seems like a good guy who really needs to smoke some weed. Quick somebody send him a bag of weed.

Wombat if I remember right, you were a fan of Mass Effect 3's multiplayer.  If so, you need to download Warframe on the PS4.  It has a weird art style, but plays like a more fleshed out version of ME 3 multiplayer.  It's four player co-op but you aren't limited to horde style modes.  There are assassinations, exterminations, sabotage, etc. in addition to the horde type (defense) modes.  There are factions similar to ME - Grineer (Cerberus), Corpus (Geth) and Infested (Reapers).  If you have the same OCD loot hoarding gene I have, you may be hooked

It's free to play so you really have nothing to lose.  Most of the stuff you can get just by playing the game and putting some time in.  PS+ members even get a special bonus pack.

Wombat, I'm with you in Titanfall in that I have a hard time distinguishing between teammates and opponents. I usually have to look at the color of the dot on my mini-map.

Frozen is pretty good, it's my second favorite musical called Frozen.

Metal Gear would of gotten less shit if it priced it closer to the other standalone expansions like Far Cry 3: Blood Dragon and Infamous: Festival of Blood. $15 for PS3 and maybe a $5 premium for next gen. $20. Ratchet & Clank: Into the Nexus (a smaller in scope R&C game) was also MSRP of $30, but you could get it pretty easily for $20 at release from multiple outlets, perhaps they should of gone that route.

I don't understand why Wombat thinks Titanfall "doesn't have legs" to stick around for a while. Games like this usually have people playing for a long time. Recently I have seen at least over 100,000 people still playing Call of Duty: Black Ops II. Not the newest game Ghosts, the previous one. People play these games for a long time and this will be no different.

Also...I don't know if I agree with Cheapy's advice to you Wombat. If you are going to use a shotgun...you better make sure you get close to your opponents. Shotguns are not good at long range fire fights. And if you just play attrition, maybe just focus on killing grunts and spectres since they count towards the score as well and will help you get your titan faster.

@wombat i understand what you're saying about the maps, feeling like they're large. that quickly changes with experience, once you play the game more the maps actually begin to feel much smaller due to familiarization and memorization.

also its very easy to find grunts once you equip the 'minion detector' perk which shows all grunts/spectres on the minimap (unlocks very early). if you use the smart pistol you can dispatch them very fast. I think the smart pistol is really awesome because it allows people who arent as good at twitch shooters to contribute to their team in a very impactful way.

lower frame drops are more common during titan usage. however titan battles are much slower compared to pilot combat so yes its not great but its not going to hurt as much as you'd think. even cod on consoles frequently dropped frames as well especially on ps3 but people still bought it and enjoyed it.

Spending 20 minutes jumping between shipping containers in a remote corner of the map then complaining there's no open world or people around to kill. Sounds like a Polygon review.

Maybe Wombat bought that Jamaica weed after all..

Cheapy and Wombat (and any other male out there who has reached their kid limit), definitely go get the vasectomy.  These days the technique uses only tiny incisions, takes less than an hour, and in my case leaves no pain, just a little discomfort for a day or two.

Honestly, leaving alone the obvious sensation benefits, the peace of mind from erasing any concern about a surprise makes it all unquestionably worth it.  Now I wonder why I waited so long.

Get the snip!

1.  The Xbox One version of Titanfall drops frame rates all the time and very noticeable, I find it hard to believe that the PC version is worse.

2.  It is somewhat difficult to notice the opposing team in the beginning but I don't seem to have that problem anymore.

3.  Titanfall doesn't have much legs for me but I will definitely get Titanfall 2 on the PS4 when they fix things like story, customization options, hopefully unique looking titans for each group, and a solid frame rate.

this episode reminded me of this prank call.

It was interesting to hear Cheapy's thoughts on the Free To Play documentary, since his perspective was that of someone who doesn't and has never played a DOTA game.

The documentary was about the first International, and the most recent one was held in August, The International 3, with an almost $3mil prize pool! And the Grand Finals were absolutely insane. Here's a 4 minute clip of the last minutes and the awards ceremony, it shows both teams in their booths and their reactions. One of the teams is actually Na'Vi, who won the first TI, and you'll recognize Dendi.

Anyway, this year Valve wants to hold the event at the Basketball stadum celtics used to play, which seats around 20k people.

Thanks for the great cast, guys, as always.

So having to respond

Yes, the 900k numbers of cameras sold was because their marketers underestimated the demand because their estimates were based on the games made for the camera and their previous sale history. What they did not factor in was twitch streaming got really popular, and not for games. People liked just sharing their living room and the playroom. But it is too late now because that first buy order only allocated this many cameras to the public.

Titanfall maps are big enough that you can not run into more than a single player at a time, but sometimes the action will naturally clump players together. A titan dropping draws attention, for one.

Wombat - I thought about buying you a Playstation 4.  Does that count for anything??

Now that you have both next-gen consoles, which do you see getting more use?

Same here. I hesitate for a split second when I see someone...usually gets me killed. Does anyone know if there is friendly fire? I haven't noticed. If there isn't, I'm just going crazy and shooting anything that moves!

Wombat, in Titanfall matches the AI grunts and Spectres spawn in (sometimes from drop pods) close to where the action is happening so if you are off in a corner, you won't see anyone to shoot there. A good perk to start with (i think it's available at level 3) is the minion detector which shows all the AI minions on your radar.

Setting your Titan to Guard or Follow mode and hanging out on the periphery of a fight is a good way to rack up some kills.

Yup, one of the many fine chain restaurants born in Ohio.
Wendy's, White Castle, Skyline, Panini's, Donatoes, Marco's, Bob Evans, Max & Ermas, Qdoba, Charley's, Steak Escape, Bravo/Brio, Cucina, LaRosa, Penn Station and Arby's to name a few. The Heartland State knows its cholesterol.

Ok I'm going to stick my neck out and share some embarrassment.

I'm "snipped", did it shortly after my 4yo was born.  Literally took 15 minutes and was painless, very small recovery time.  Played  DS while it was being done.  You go in to a small Dr.'s office room, lay down spread eagle and the doc stabs you with numb numb juice.  Waddled my happy ass out afterwards knowing I'll never have kids again.  Was very cheap (few hundred I believe) and I think insurance even covers it for some people.  Four years later and still no kids, haven't used a condom since so I'm pretty sure it worked (you can follow up but I was too lazy)

Hope my embarrassment helps some people out.

On Major Nelson's podcast the Titanfall developers said you can wall run from one end to the other on every map. So if you can't find other players that's on you.

@cheapy @Shipwreck

I had to contact Logitech/Harmony to have them program a complete shut off for my Xbox One.  Before I contacted them it would leave the Xbox One on the shut down confirmation (controller/console screen)  Try to update your remote through your PC software to see if they pushed that out to the masses.  If not you'll have to contact them.

I also had a double button press issue they had to fix (tried to fix it through my Harmony software but no option corrected it).

I have the Harmony Touch

Great show. Diarrhea is always a fun topic starter haha. Was wondering since cheapy is following listeners on xbl is wombat and shipwreck Doug the same. Thanks and keep up the good work.
