Roger Video Plus at Beddington in Calgary just started a store closing sale with tonnes of good sales. Same deals on as in the Winnipeg/Edmonton thread from a while ago.

All used DVD's and Blu Rays are Buy 1 Get 2 Free
All new merchandise (games, DVD's, Blu Ray) are 50% off.
All Used games are all 2 for $25.

Today (Tuesday) was the second day of the sale. Still had quite a bit of stuff. The place was pretty busy.

The sale will still be pretty good as all of the rentals are returned. (Most of the recent games were rented out, as they normally are - so they'll be up for sale as soon as they are returned.)

***NOTE: please be nice to the staff. Most have been let go.***

I'm sorry to hear that they are closing and sorry for the employees who have been let go but thank you for the heads up.
 
Oh no! I'm really sad about this. I grew up in Beddington and rented games there since 1995. To not have my local Rogers (who's phone I've had memorized since I was like 8) be there when I come home next will be quite disappointing.

Good luck Calgary CAGs, if you guys have near the sale we have it'll be quite a good grab-bag. Get there early!
 
Just got back from there. The gaming situation is about what you'd expect, although there were a few okay deals on things I already had (excellent deals if you've just bought a system, though). There were a few in the rental section that were still out, so that could go either way but they'll likely get snapped up as soon as they're gone.

On the movie front, much better. I picked up a ton of DVDs and Blu-Rays, including grabbing the complete series of Battlestar Galactica (including the movies) for less than season one would cost on its own. Move of the good TV sets were gone, but they were still unloading stuff, and for regular movies this is a red hot place to be.
