Call of Duty: Black Ops Announced

Treyarch and Activision have officially unveiled the mask on their new project- Call of Duty: Black Ops.


Despite all of the problems and legal battles going on around the franchise series (which nobody really cares about other than the people involved), this new game is leaving some a little iffy on the subject.


It even came with a new website and release date already (11.08.10), but literally no other information other than that has been revealed. All that has been said is that the game will take players "behind enemy lines".



What do you think, too soon? Will this just be another "World at War" until Modern Warfare 3 is released? (If it ever is; most likely under a new name.)
I wonder what Activision has in store this time; maybe you'll get to be Doc instead of Marty McFly, and you'll get to fight the Chinese Mafia for your cut of the plutonium? Maybe we'll see Soviet Zombies instead of Nazi Zombies, or even better, Pirate Zombies?

Kinda disappointed I actually wanted Vietnam. Men of Valor was the best Vietnam game out and looks to still be for now.
 
Activision really dries out every franchise. I know many people eat these sequels up but these series get stale when they're constantly rehashed and released on a yearly basis.

Hell yeah it was, but this is a disappointment that there will be no cod vietnam. Well so far i have enjoyed the 360 cod games. Hopefully there will be some awesome zombie battles

No Vietnam game?? No way! I was really looking forward to branching away from the played out World War II era.

I though I read some report last night that said it was gonna be Vietnam. I will try to find the article again

This is different from the way Treyarch did the CoD games in the past. They've always been working on more than one game at a time. Here's a list of Treyarch games:

I just hope that for once they allow multiple people to play online at the sametime like Halo. For me thats the only thing missing from the series

Dont quote me on that lol, i heard that Vietnam was the next one too. Who knows maybe black ops is a Vietnam thing, Like an operation aurora except in Vietnam of course.
 
i'm hoping the mp will be better for this. MW2 has nothing but cheaters on it. it's not fun dieing all the time. i'm not the best player in the world but i know i'm better than how i do on MW2. i liked W@W so i'm sure i'll like this game.

Haha i remember going into a MP game and everyones guns turned into rocket launchers that fired automatically. it was nuts. I hate cheaters.

Whats that W@W you are talking about?
 
Interesting, but I will be too busy with Medal Of Honor to even bother.

Maybe it will get a rent just to check out the zombie mode.

Cool. any idea what the release date is? I hope it has a cool epic opening battle just like Frontline did
