Single Player Campaign
The single player campaign of MW2 is a bit of a disappointment to me. While it is a thrilling and action packed ride, the story is kind of a mess, and it is over in a mere 5-7 hours. So it is fun, but it is over really quick. Some of the characters are interesting, but they really don't spend a lot of time on fleshing them out. There also is not a lot of replay value to the campaign, unless you are going for achievements, such as beating it on veteran (the games hardest difficulty) or finding the hidden intel.
Spec Ops
This is the cooperative portion of the game, which has 2 players completing different missions, each with different objectives. These I found were a lot of fun to play with friends, and it is very challenging to get the 3 stars on each of them. There is quite a lot of variety to these missions, but most of them were taken from parts of the campaign which gives it kind of a recycled feel.
Multiplayer
This is the real meat and potatoes of this game. I personally have a love/hate relationship with the multiplayer in MW2. It is highly addicting, as you are constantly unlocking new guns, attachments, and perks. The problem with it is that the game is not very balanced. Grenade launchers (or noob tubes), one man army, commando knifing, campers, spawn killing, shotguns as secondaries, the AA-12, Spas-12, Killstreaks, the list goes on and on. This game is crazy, hectic, and sometimes just a load of BS. If you can find a group of people that you have fun playing this game with you will probably have a blast. But if you just play with random people it only takes a few of them using cheap, unfair tactics to ruin the game for you.
Overall I rate this game an 7.5/10 due to a fun but short campaign, unbalanced yet addictive multiplayer, and a fun and challenging cooperative mode.
