To get ***40 GB**** in Gold Box for $379 (before -$100) I tried this and it worked perfectly,
1. Created New Account
2. Rated PS3 controller AND "Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare"
3. Now I had 40 G PS3 in my Recommendations like 7 or 8th Item in addition to 60G and 80G
4. Went to "Recommended for you" and said Not Interested for everything apart for 40 G
5. Went to GB and Sure enough PS3 40G was there for $379.99! And promptly ordered!!

If it's the same SD post I saw, then it's worth mentioning that the $100 off applies to getting the Sony card. If the $100 discount is something else, then I suppose it can stack with it, since the credit card gets $100 off the purchase anyway, which'd make it a really great deal at the price of a 360 Arcade unit.

My friend found a 60GB at a pawn shop for $300, perfectly fine.
Goto www.sonystyle.com apply for the sony visa card, and if approved they will give you $100 off of your next bill.. Very easy.

that didn't work for me. do you have to say Not Interested for every single reccomendation except for the 40gb PS3?

Yes, you will have to check the "not interested" for every single item to ensure you get that one product in your gold box. You can narrow it down quicker by checking the "do not use this as a recommendation" box. G'luck!
