Can you return a used game to EB?

I bought a used game at EB and I already beat it.

Since it's within 7 days could I just return it no questions asked?

I didn't know you could return a game after 30 days if defective. I always thought it was 7 days with a receipt.

It would be terrible to play a game for 31 days and then find out it doesn't work on that day.

Don't they just give you another copy of the same game if they have a used copy in stock? You might have to hunt for an EB games without the same used game available.

im also wondering, on return-receipts what are the options for "reason"? ive had 'did not like' 'gift' and 'other' marked down. is that it?

I've had one say "not compatible" when I bought Crackdown after it plummeted in price but before the last b2g1 they had. I exhanged it for the same thing + 2 more and it said that.

I've returned games after playing them for a bit, saying that I just didn't like it(which is usually reason enough around here for a return) and then they let me pick something else out.

Or, my all time favorite, I grab a game I think I'll like, play it for a bit, then if I don't like it, I just say it doesn't work and that I don't wanna take a chance on another copy.

Then, you look around for a bit and if there's nothing you want and are really adamant that nowhere does it say you can't get your original payment back from them within the 7 days, they give you your original payment back(cash, credit, chargeback on a CC, etc).

I've successfully 'tried' a buttload of games I later on didn't like this way thanks to their lovely policy. It's the ONLY halfway decent part of GS corp.

yeah but i hope this doesnt get axed soon, kinda curious why it exists in the 1st place

It was Eternal Darkness by the way.

The game hasn't aged too gracefully and it wasn't as scary as I expected. As much as it breaks the fourth wall, it isn't really that scary considering its a retarded looking skeleton that is your enemy.

Condemned has spoiled me.

but its not like you can rent games forever. you are only allowed one exchange to prevent people from abusing this policy. example: buy sonic used and decide it sucks so you exchange it for pokemon. according to their policy if you try and exchange pokemon you will be denied and you are stuck with pokemon, even if you dont like it.

Yeah, but see, if I'm forced to just 'exchange' for another game, I'll make sure I exchange for something I want or something that has fair trade value someplace else. I almost always make sure that I never truly 'waste' my money at GS.

And really, in the end, that's what it just comes down to. Either that or I'll buy 2-4 games instead of one similarly priced game like I am exchanging. In that way, in some sick sort of logic, I get MORE games for my money back than I had originally.

lol hella confusing but your screen name says it all ;)

LOL Basically, what I said in that mess there was that if I'm forced to take credit, I'll make sure I either get something with decent value at some other store(probably FYE) or I'll pick up 3-4 cheap games to kinda 'pad' my collection with until the next trade deal someplace.

I rarely come out of GS anymore without a smile on my face from knowing their crap is going for good credit someplace else or I somehow got one over on them.

As for the new policy CaoPi, we shall see, since if ya make a big enough stink, you can usually get your $$$ back.

Also, it definitely helps to make a fuss in front of other customers, since then it'll get THEM thinking 'what if I have to return something and they say credit only'. And, I don't know about you, but I'd keep that one customer happy, so the rest don't think that if you have a problem with a game, they don't stand behind their products they sell.
it does says on the receipt used games can only be returned for store credit now within 7 days!
are you cereal

well back then you can return new games and get a full refund within 7 days no questions asked. But too many people abused that so they are only offering store credit back...

I guess that confirms the retard with ADDHD. :D

I watch it sometimes, not as much as I used to. I actually work with a guy that is fat and sounds EXACTLY like cartman. It's the craziest thing. We're trying to get him to dress up like him for Halloween.

Today,I went to look around EB and saw someone buy a gutted game(couldn't see excactly what game) but when he was baout to give it to him,the cashier put a sticker on the side where you open it.I guess to prevent" Play, beat it,return for another etc."

Steam works wonders on stickers, as does just GENTLY peeling them off. Trick is to get one of the edges up FIRST, which is the worst part. I thought that EB/GS stopped using those annoying 'returnable in 14 days if seal is unbroken' seals a while ago?

I guess some districts in the country are still trying to act all strict, but AS USUAL, there ARE ways around those precautions.
