Canada and Game Stores!

I was wondering, you see all these strategy guides going for $0.01 at certain store at EB Games and other places. Has anyone ever seen that in a Canadian store?

I went and talked to a owner for EB Games and he said they do go down to $0.01 but when they drop to that price they shred the books. I asked if there was any way of getting them at that point and he said no. Not even the employees can have them which I find is probably a lie cause they probably know a way around it. But anyways does anyone know where to get deals like this in Canada? Even on games?

I doubt they go through the trouble of shredding them unless the manager is a real stickler for the rules. I know maybe 1 out 100 Gamerush stores shreds stuff that they penny out (old video games, clearance items, guides, etc.). The rest of them give that stuff to their employees. I'm sure EB/GS is the same way. Cool managers give that stuff to their employees (if they even want it) instead of throwing it away.

I've heard of people in the states dumpster diving for the books, I wonder if they do that here in Canada and what days that would be. If anyone has any suggestions on how to get cheap gaming supplies in Canada let me know please!
