The good news, my CC appears to have restocked clearance games . . . I was in a hurry but it looked like there were more games (not some of the gems though) than there had been last Sunday. Plenty of PS2 games that would trade as PO at EB Games.

The bad news, they wouldn't take my BB $5 off coupon any longer (the one we've had for over a month) . . . actually had a sign at the register . . . saying they would only take an original (not a copy). I wonder if this was just because of me . . . I used about 6 total.

Anyone else get this . . . I guess I'll try the other one (the one that surfaced in the past week).

Confused, this thread says more:

I'm sad to hear they're getting restocks on clearence games. The only two I really wanted were Riddick and Baten Kaitos. I got Riddick and finally broke down and got Baten Kaitos with store credit/gift card for $29.99 at Target. If I go to CC today and see Baten Kaitos for $9.99 there's only one thing to do....

Buy it and go get my $30 in store credit back. Yes, I am in fact that cheap.

It sounds like they just don't want to accept it or maybe they don't realize that's how the coupon really looks. There is no such thing as an "original" or at least CC wouldn't think so since even the actual coupons handed out in store at Best Buy looks like a photocopy. Is there another local CC you can try?

Wear it like a badge my friend....there's no reason to spend an extra $20.

Aren't we all? Hell, I've done that plenty of times. In fact, whenever I buy a game from Target, Best Buy, etc. I keep the receipt inside the case in case I find it cheaper somewhere else.

I'm sure a lot of people have had problems using the coupons. A lot of Circuit City's won't take coupons in the first place, so consider yourself pretty lucky that you got 6 games with these coupons in the past.

I do that kind of thing all the time . . . I came up with a theory (never put into practice . . . yet).

Buy a hot new release at Target . . . say Conker for $50. Pay cash and keep the receipt with the game.

Goto WalMart and buy another Conker in 87 days (probably still $50) and "return" it to Target . . . then you have another 90 days to find a cheaper one to "return" to Wally World . . . cycle long enough and you're paying $20 and getting the other cash back.

It's still kinda shocking to see a sign that is made to just deny YOU your God-given right to cheapness.

the McDs coupon looks more legit . . . I'll try it tomorrow.

That should piss them off.

You have to wonder why would the OP try to go too far printing 6 coupons and trying to use them all at once. Its quite obvious that if you went too far like that, they would of denied you. You could of used 2 the most at the same time. But 6 coupons on 6 clearance games, that's just too much. I would of denied it too if I was the manager.

i was turned down at CC since the games are on clearance (i had the McD's coupon that excludes any clearance in fine print) I did buy a bad boys for $5 a/c that i flipped to EB for $10.

Actually, the OP :) did use 6 coupons total . . . 2 at a time on three separate occasions.

I've only used the ghetto PSP handout coupon once at Best Buy, and the clerk there had to look at it long and hard (and go speak with someone) before finally giving me the discount. I've successfully used the recent McDonald's coupon at CC three times now, but I wouldn't be surprised if they cut me off at some point in the near future.

It doesn't make a lot of business sense to give customers $5 off any PS2 game just to match a competitor's discount coupon, but if they're going to do it, I'm more than willing to take advantage of the situation. :D

They must of recognized him then somehow

No, there is a big sign right at the checkout . . . so no one can use one at this location.

In fact, maybe someone else did use 20 of them or something.

Some Best Buys don't even take the PSP/PS2 coupon so I'm not surprised most Circuit Cities won't. Myself, I didn't even try because it's a photocopy and I'm pretty sure CC would've rejected it because it says "No photocopies" on it. They still take the regular BB GGC though :)

Update:

Tried today and used the new McDonalds $5 off coupon with no trouble on a PS2 clearance game at CC!

Too bad, no more Project Snowblinds left.

I got denied with a color printout of the $5 McDonald's coupon last week, but I think it was largely due to the clerk's ignorance (didn't know they took competitor coupons, etc.). I didn't want to argue with her (and draw attention to myself in the process), so I guess I'll try back again when she isn't there. The selection is getting pretty bad at this point anyway.
